JETTING SUCCESS

howdy folks so we will reconnect the isolators just like that and um fingers crossed she'll spark up obviously if you've seen the last video i didn't want to start dead batteries come on baby that was yesterday we refitted yep no it wasn't yesterday was it yesterday yeah it was yesterday my memory well we've got ignition Yimba! Yimba! Oh that's good, she'll have a good run today so yeah we've got to run into Bedford do this jetting job so we'll leave her ticking over get rid of the alternator there we go sorted as I was saying the other day that we've not had the river out well sure you can see from the video we're at Barford here at Great Barford it's out of the banks and indeed yeah it's been out roughly at the farm it's roughly been out for about a week it's been going up and down up and down um it's not come out well yeah it has come out fully sort of once if you know what i mean um other than that it's been out in the uh in the low spots so but we have had a fair bit of rain this past uh couple of weeks good heavy you know good heavy heavy days good heavy days but it's supposed to be warming up and raining a bit more so used to cart straw through it with a fast track and an arctic trailer back in the day but then i don't think i'd be doing it coming through my own tractor you know get a bit more work for it like you know so if you're in the haybridge vicinity medford cambridge huntington sort of area need a bit of off-road jetting doing 100 metres of hose on board, they can wash down as well. So yeah, better clear most blockages. If I can't do it, then you're asking for the big boys. So you're not talking van packs then. Compu-units, i.e. lorries, which gets very expensive. I don't know how much, but it would be very expensive to hire our combi. So we've got 100m in the hose, 3000 psi at 30 litres a minute. Expectable specs like. Out of our children's 30hp tractor. I mean it's all very well over the tools, how to use them and there is, you know, can do a bit of damage with a jetter. Maybe not so much on land drains, yard drains, but When you're talking on streets, cul-de-sacs, that sort of stuff, doing laterals which are the sewers that come off the main sewer that runs down the road, the laterals are the ones that connect the houses to the main sewer. If you get that wrong, I have back rows on the tankers and the jetters and that. If you got it wrong, you could go and blow people's toilets up. You could send the jet up. too far the wrong way whatever yeah cold can you imagine the jetter going up the wrong hole wouldn't be pleasant would it look and expensive so yeah you do need a bit of knowledge right and to sort of be able to tell what sort of blockage you're dealing with you can tell a lot from how the the nozzle reacts with the blockage whether it's hard soft whatever sort of you know how it reacts like you know so you know you get to know You get to have a feel for what you're trying to do. So we've been at this now for about an hour and a half. Basically it's where this goes under them trees, just up there. All this run, probably about 80 metres, is routed up. Even routes right to the end of the outlet here. And this was nothing coming through when we started. I've got a bit of a cut through there, you can see behind Tom. But yeah, this is dry, so we've got it, well, we're probably about 25% flow, but we're better than 0% flow. This goes off down that ditch, so. That's some of the crap we've got out. We did a pullback. We're jetting from uphill now, and we've got, not a piece of flow, but I mean, look, here you go, sort of right down here. That's the trouble, when my cutting nozzle from the jetter is not really touching them although it has you know it's got it running so it will come down slowly but I might see if I can get an actual root cutting nozzle one with the chains on because the one I've got is just a rotating nozzle if you know what I mean without chains but obviously it's made its way through and opened up holes so a bit of success anyway a bit of work but Yeah, but worth it like. So many routes in that fight. But we did punch hole through and have to have a look at getting an actual proper route cutter. But how well my machine would run a route co is another matter because it's the smaller end of the scale. We'll see, I'll have to do a bit of shopping, see what I can find. I'm glad we got it actually going, but there's a lot of water there for it to get through. But we did drop that manhole we looked in, we did drop that by more than that, probably eight or nine inches. It's not a lot, but it's some amount of water that's backed up behind it. It's not a bad lot. It's good to have a catch up with Henry. He even bought me a McDonald's, so he's a good old boy. Good old boy. yeah yeah late in the day it's just gone half one so the traffic is building up we're steaming up well the old weather's took a lovely turn for the for the worse again isn't it a little bit miserable but at least the day was great success um yeah tractor's behaved itself back to pole isolators obviously work which is quite handy Yeah, when I park it up, I shall remember to turn them off or disconnect them. And yeah, batteries stopped it for about half an hour while we had our Mackies. And it really started fine. So obviously the batteries are holding a nice bit of juice. Today's done them good, actually. You know, a good four hours running. So they've had some juice put in them. Yeah, like I said, I'm quite chuffed we've got that. that drain running not full bore but i mean it was in festival roots so that we got it going at all was uh was very very good i'm very very impressed there we go just like that simple as there we go well i mean they do work well um just be handy i think it'd be better if the posts were you know upright rather than horizontal be a bit more easier it will be less twist on the cable so don't know might look at screens feeling a bit a bit droopy yeah i might try another set that's got the you know the upright poles on it like but they do work i mean to be fair they do work so that is isolated batteries are nicely charged job is a good one
