why are you not launching that product you have been working on that product for two years now some of you are redesigning logos some of you are waiting for funding before making that first step or acquiring that first customer or even before validating the idea and you know what the scary part is that the longer you wait the harder it becomes to launch Let's have a conversation around why we think entrepreneurs and founders are so afraid of launching their products. They are so afraid of putting themselves out there. They are so afraid of, you know, just putting their product out there so that people can actually try out and actually people can give feedback and actually people can talk about it and stuff like that. I want us to talk about it. and it's it's a serious topic because most of the entrepreneurs are stuck in a cycle where they start something and then the excitement comes and then they start something and then the excitement stops and then it's another project died you know another excitement comes the next day they leave it alone and then they continue another excitement comes another day they leave that alone and continue to the next one so they just keep on hoping from one idea to another one idea to another without even sticking and going through the learning process and so today i want to help you guys you know unstuck from the ideas that you guys are having or ideas that you guys are you know you have not launched yet remember the quote that says a better product is a bad product with good distribution always wins and it's more than a good product with bad distribution launch that product now and so let's go to let's get into six ways in which you can unstuck and actually start being you know taking charge of all the ideas that you are actually working on or taking charge of the things that you're supposed to do as a founder So let's be honest, you know, most of us are not stuck. So the first reason is the real reason why you haven't launched. You know, most of us are not stuck because of money. I believe that if you'd want to start a good startup, you really don't need money to start a startup, honestly speaking. We'll talk about something else sometime on how to start a startup with zero funding. You know, I have done it before. And so let's be honest, most of us are not just stuck because, you know, we lack money. Most of us are not stuck because we lack their skills. You guys are 10x developers. You guys can build a full website in less than two hours or less than 24 hours. You know, not because of timing. You guys have the best time so far. The best time with AI and everything. But you're afraid of being judged. You're afraid of failing. You're afraid of people ignoring your product. You're afraid of launching something that is imperfect. And I want us to talk about being judged. And I think how, you know, as a person, I overcame all these things of, you know, being judged, failing publicly, people ignoring your product and launching something imperfect. These are the reasons to why we founders or some founders think that they should go back and repolish their product always and always and always. I need to tell you something. So being judged, everyone judges everyone. Even me, I'm judging you who is watching this video. I'm already judging you. Failure is not a problem when it comes to entrepreneurship. Failure, failure, failure is not a problem. Most of us take failure as one of the worst things that can ever happen. Let me tell you something. It's because when we were in school, we were taught that failure is wrong. When you failed an exam, the teacher used to flog you or your parents used to flog you or your parents used to punish you or all these things. But you know what? Failure is not bad when it comes to entrepreneurship. Most of the times, you need to fail as much as possible. oh lord you need to uh what's the word you need to iterate as fast as possible to actually move on as quickly and then people ignoring your product bro we have eight more than eight billion people in the world if in case you're only supposed to get 0.001 of those eight billion people everyone will ignore your product when it doesn't make sense to them because you have not put yourself out there to actually talk about your product so they don't understand it okay Launching something that is imperfect. I think don't wait to, you know, to launch something that is perfect and perfect. I've worked for a startup before that was always wanting to make something perfect and perfect and perfect. But then at the end of the day, customers won't wait for you to make that thing perfect. They'll always choose the next person who has, you know, who has already gone to the market. And so perfection is hiding. Don't wait to just add one more feature. Some of your customers are not going to use that one more feature that you actually want to add. And so put yourself out there. Launch something. You're thinking about something. What is always said is that... build a landing page and then tell your users to actually go there and sign up and see you know what they're doing there and then after that uh see if that is a good product or not you know that validating the idea essentially that is actually what it means and so put yourself out there put your product out there let people use it let people talk about it okay good so you've already known the reasons to why people feel like you know people haven't launched their products they are they feel they they feel being judged they feel failing publicly the people ignoring their product or launching something that is imperfect and so your product section number two is your product will never feel ready One of the lies that every other person thinks or every other person has in the back of their heads as entrepreneurs is that, you know what, I'll just launch this product when it's perfect. Or I'll launch this product when these features are done. Look at Instagram, for example. Look at Airbnb. Look at Amazon. Look at Facebook. Look at all these things. Look at even what you're currently using right now, M-Pesa Safari Comp. All these products, when they were brought into the market, they were not as perfect as possible. Let's start, for example, Facebook. Facebook, you know, they looked so terrible in the beginning. You guys should go and watch the social network. You look at how Facebook was looking like at the beginning. It was very terrible. Instagram, look at Instagram, how it was looking like at the first. It was very, very, very terrible. And so the fear... of you know launching something when it's perfect brothers and sisters products always start the first versions of this product is not supposed to be as beautiful as possible what you need to do is take your product put it out there let users use it get feedback come back iterate move on you you live by the customer you move by the customer you wake up by the customer you sleep by the customer the customer the customer put the customer in the center of your know of your life every other day and then after you put the send the customer in the middle of your life every other day so start building with a customer in mind the customers won't care that this button is blue or red or green or pink they just want that button to do that one thing that it's supposed to do and so the the founder of airbnb said that how many times did they launch airbnb over six times People are ignoring them six times. You just launch again. You just launch again. You just launch again. So if you feel that every other person is ignoring your product, just relaunch again, relaunch, relaunch, relaunch. I heard a quote from someone that said, the better, the startups that are going to win are startups that do things as quick as possible. AI is already here to help us to move things as fast as possible. And so don't wait for someone else to come and save you. No one is coming to save you as a startup. Not even investors, not even your team or every other person. Know this, that the market is the one that shapes the product. So take that product, put it into the market. And the market tells you this and this and this. Iterate as quickly as possible and then you move on. So the market shapes the product. Users shape the product. Feedback shapes the product. Again. you know we say that we are cooking something big we are working on the next frontier of ai models you know we are working on uh one two three four five six seven eight brothers and sisters for you to get users build in public talk to people about the features that you have talk to users post updates show prototypes build community before you launch so one of the how this has always helped me is that When I build a product publicly, so let's say for example, we're building SubSplit. SubSplit is the marketplace for AI models where you can buy and sell your AI models, okay? Good. So you take your models and put them into SubSplit and then people can buy and sell. And so when we were starting building that product, we knew very well that we want to build it with developers. And so... We tried, we shaped our building and put it public in such a way that the first line of code that we wrote, we talked about it. And we are going to write a code for subsplit, subsplit is going to do this and this and this and this. We are building in public. We are talking to users. What do you guys think about our landing page? What do you guys think about these battles? You see, you are starting to get your users from day one. They will always use your product. we have a generation or we have a people that are loyal when you give them a chance so if you give your users a chance to determine how your product is going to play out then that is how you build trust So talk to users, post updates. Oh, we have just launched SubSplit or we have just added this feature on SubSplit. Talk about it. Show people prototypes. You know, be extraordinary. One of the things that has actually put me out of every other person is that I'm always extraordinary. If in case I'm supposed to come and present a project here. I'll be the one that is, whether I'll win or not, I'll be the one that is the most extraordinary person. I'll be with my costumes. I'll come with every other thing just to make sure that I bring out the content or I bring out what I want you to actually hear. Because if I don't win that competition or if I don't get what was supposed to be gotten, I have left in your brain one of the things that you'll never forget. Section four, the MVP mindset. You don't need a full product. You just need proof. Investors need proof. Can this thing work? Users like me, we just need proof. Can it actually solve my problem? I don't need to check if the button is yellow or green or red or pink. Can it just solve the problem? That's the reason why look at government websites. They're always the worst when it comes to the UI. But it fulfills the purpose of what it's meant for. And so you don't need a full product. You don't need, you know, a hundred features when you're starting. You just need two, three, four features. If your users ask for more, add them. So if in case you're building a startup, an app, an AI marketplace, or an AI product, or a SaaS tool, just start small. Because when you start small, you actually gain momentum. It creates that momentum. It creates that energy to actually move forward. And so don't jump to version 10. before you actually go through version one good next one section five second last no one is coming to save you brothers and sisters investors are not coming to save you co-founders are not coming to save you motivation is not coming to save you permission is not coming to save you perfect timing is not coming to save you because this entrepreneurship doesn't reward waiting you just have to go to the market and actually get the responses that you actually need because the people you admire they launched scared too don't be scared that oh my product is not going to do what we want it to do or stuff like that confidence is built through action you have to put yourself out there you have to do the and and you know the things that no one wants to do elon musk said that if you want to beat the 10 best companies in the world just work 10 times harder than them work 10 times harder than them put yourself out there if you're building a product Come to TikTok. If that is where your user base is, talk about your product there. You will actually get users there. Go to where your customers hang out. In case your customers hang out on TikTok, if in case your customers hang out on schools and all these things, go get them there. Lastly, what happens after you launch? So what happens after you launch? So you have just built a product, you have launched it. What you need to do now is now put yourself in different stages. Stage number one, take that product. take it to the market right if you feel that people are ignoring you launch again what is the what is the worst that can happen launch again second time people don't think launch it again third time people not sing launch it again so when you launch it get user feedback when you get user feedback go back and iterate what i mean by iterating is go back to the product change the things that people want and then push it back to them if in case they want more features bring those features to them because at the end of the day You're just fulfilling your user's needs. And so what you need to do is go find feedback. Go and find why people are clicking this button or why people are not clicking this button. Use things like Microsoft Clarity. Use things like Google Analytics just to see where people are clicking. What are people actually using my app for and all these things so that you actually get feedback. So the first launch teaches you what works. what users care about, what to remove, what to improve, and all that. So this is my challenge to you. Why are you not launching that product? Because at some point, you will have to stop preparing and start building it publicly. Post that demo. Open that whitelist. Ship version 1. Put yourself out there. Come here on TikTok. Come to Instagram. Go to where? Where your users hang out. Talk to your users about your product. again launch 10 times if they don't see it launch 20 times if you don't they don't see it because we're in a generation where if you don't put the effort you're actually not going to make it i hope this video helps you as a startup founder to launch that product thank you and see you on the next one bye
