Ford FW

Ginger Genius

DNS Factors

Howdy folks, how we doing? New Year's Eve today and yeah done the cows this morning as per usual. Just heading over to Kingy's now, Matt and Basil's. Obviously we're in the old fast track, we're in 3170. The 4220 icon has gone back, well you see that in the last video didn't you? So yeah we're back to L31, cheers mate. Vestel 3170 and yeah we've got the you know Matt and Basil's transport box on the back like hence we're going over in the tractor otherwise I'll be going over in the truck but yeah taking that back to Matt and Basil cheers mate a very kind to lend it me for put Father Christmas in yeah let's open the taps on her yeah so a week or so ago the total for the tractor on was about £52,000 which is a phenomenal amount. I would dare say it's gone up probably another few thousand by now. I've not checked but hopefully it's like £55,000 or something like a huge amount of money. Well done to everyone involved. Well done indeed. Very, very good. Yeah, so the other reason we're heading over to Matt and Basil's is going to put the wheels back on the FW. get her off them stands like so she's secure a lot. Ging is coming over, Ging a genius who's been building the new exhaust for her and he's bringing all the bits and he's welded because he's got a, I think he wants to mount it all and then get the last measurement to weld it in I think, so we'll see the new exhaust and hopefully by the end of the video we'll see the new exhaust and we'll see the wheels new wheels on the FW so yeah it'll be all good. It will be good to get her back on her wheels like. In the transport box I've got the filter kit as well. Will I get a chance to do any more of that? Probably not but at least it'll be over here like it's a big old box. I've still got a bit of electrical work to do in the cab because the work lights have stopped working so getting them Getting them going again. Got to secure the UTV headlights in the front mounts a bit better. I've got some O-rings that will hopefully do that. Yeah, because they're slightly, as is often the case, they're just slightly bigger than standard, the ones on the FW. So, like your normal Ford, sort of 10 series lights and everything like that. are just a tiny bit smaller than these FW lighting units. So it's the lighting, you know, the UTV lights for the 10 series are a little bit loose in these housings. So, but we should be able to cure that with an O-ring or two lights. So what else? Don't know. But we're getting there. We are getting there. All the health and safety here. Nice arse. so ginger genius uh he's here now my ginger dave david i call him ginger one calls him ginger yeah um and he's called the ginger genius because he is literally a genius so uh above average but i have his genius um so you're just putting the what what that's like the the yeah probably probably a good idea actually that's like the pipe that Takes the two three inches and puts it into the five in it Yeah, so you got the one underneath there Comes from under there from this bank this side that bit of pipe over there is what you've done at normak Which is still absolutely fine that sexual blooming welding. We'll have a bit more closer look at the world in a minute, but So that comes up Filthy filthy dirty that is You what mate? All purge welded. So what is purge? So you'll seal this up and when I weld the outside I'll have inert weld gas on the inside at the same time because that prevents any of what they call with stainless and other things you get what they call sugaring and it will oxidise the weld on the inside so if you put inert gas in there the weld gas inside it doesn't do it so it comes out clean like the second weld you see there was the outside weld. It comes through nice and clean. But it wouldn't if you didn't purge it. No, if you didn't do that you would have lots of fluff in it. I don't know if I've got any lying around that shows it. Yeah. But it's not good. No, it's not good. It's industry practice to purge weld. Yeah. Hence we'll tack this up today and I'll tack it up well. Yeah. And I'll take it back and weld it up in the workshop properly. And then I can set it all up and do it right. Yeah, yeah. You'll know everything fits together then, Lott. Yeah, that's going to work. That looks about right, mate, doesn't it, Lott? Yeah. We'll put the old big tube on the wing shortly. Yeah that is a big tube, it looks very big in the back of your van George has got rather excited over the big Stonus tube Why wouldn't you? Why would you not get excited about it? Lovely, she's going to look... You didn't have the pleasure of undoing them when they turned up Well no, like Christmas, well it was Christmas wasn't it? No, very nice, very nice, she's going to look very pretty when she's done The gingers also may well they might they're in the back here, so what new wheel bolts to go in There's an old one, yes, no one Oh, yeah, there's the old one the old washers just basically like a plain 10 mil wash a lot but we've got all gingers mate made these Out of what was it mate? 316 stainless. 316 stainless. And the video won't do adjusted just to how nice they are. All the edges have just got a lovely little bit of a bezel on it like. Beautiful. So there's a full set of 40 there, 40 bolts so... Yeah, so I'm going to get the wheels on when my loader man turns up. New bolts, new washers. So they should look pucker. In here we've got some more exhaust goodies. So we've got, I mean, just look at that. I love these little bits of flexi. It's just a normal flexi on the inside, you know, what you stand and what you've seen before. But they put that, you say that's woe, they knit it on like? It's knitted or woven and then, yeah, it's... Real nice. Real nice, though, isn't it, like? Lovely. It's much better than that corrugated tube. Oh, yeah, yeah. Lovely 90s swept. five inch bend there so that that we actually won't see that once it's welded in because that'll be inside the main tube so that'll be the last time you ever see that we've got a few more bits and bobs here like yeah so we're gonna look at this look i mean that is just a wheelie bit that'll be actually that way around yeah so that'll be holding the side there somewhere wouldn't it like and then that'll just upswift it ups send it up the exhaust basically Look at that, it's a monster. There's my hand in it, look. Look at that, it's lovely. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Ooh, she'll look good and sound. Very nice. Very, very nice. I didn't make these ones. Did you not? No, no, no. You can't claim them ones, right? No, I can't claim these ones. I can claim the one on the end of the manifold, but you can see. I can't claim this one unfortunately. It's a shiny shot. We're just magpies, aren't we? They are so nice. It's stainless. It's never going to rot. Nope. That'll last me out. I'll be dead before that. It'll look nice. You don't have to do any finishing. You could just weld it up, clean the welds off so they don't corrode and away you go. Yeah, leave it to it like that. And it looks fantastic, doesn't it? Looks fantastic. Absolutely. Yeah. So you are... Ginger Genius 78 I think, and you're on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. You're on Instagram and Facebook a bit more often than YouTube, aren't you? Yeah, YouTube's taking off slowly, a lot of shorts on there, but that's hopefully going to change. So if you want to see this sort of stuff, you know, welding, purge welding, making, and all sorts of stuff. Yeah, we specialise in making things that you can't find. So people turn up with broken bits and pieces. When you make it. Yeah, I had a message the other day. Somebody wants a little brass adapter made up. They can't buy it anymore. Yeah. We'll just turn that up on the lathe and make it up. Simple. What are you doing? Yeah. The stuff other people turn away. Yeah. Yeah. There you are, mate. Lovely jab, mate. Look better than they did. Oh, baby. Don't that look nice. Stay there. Do not fall over. Yeah, the SEAT VF800 65R32 CFOs. Torque Max is very, very nice. Just got to get it back over me newly painted hubs. That's the new batteries in. That looks so much tidier now as well. Now all painted up with the new battery trays painted, battery drawers. Looking good. All Modcons. That nearly walk in. I'd say that nearly walk in. You let it down enough to do. You directed it. Yeah. Yeah. Do we need to go up the back? It's hard to tell isn't it? Give it a pump. Just give it a pump I think, yeah. We've got a little bit of gap at the top so whether we just need to take her up. Yeah. Good. Whether we're still on the floor. That stand come out now I think, can't it? Yeah, I think we're on the floor so it's just dragging the bottom a bit. Yeah, if we'll keep going. How much we got left? We're about there, haven't we? We are there, we are there at the top. We're half a bolt hole out. That ain't too bad. No, if we get a shovel we should be able to jiggle it like. That weren't too bad. Do you believe in everyone? No, a little bit of touch up. Have a bolt, Mr George. Look at that, first bolt. Beautiful. Right, so we've got one on which makes us feel a little bit better, don't it, Ginge? Definitely. But we'll be even happier when we get the other three on. The other three or even another one would be a lot better, like. But that's gone on very nicely. That worked a treat. Yeah, because you've got a good control of it, it just squeezes it, get it in position and then just rotate to get your holes lined up. and the actual damage to the paint is negligible, very negligible. So just a little bit of touch up and that'll be right as rain, a little bit of drag mark there like. Yeah, but it took big scraunches out, I was expecting it to be a bit worse, but that's alright. Another bit of a touch up. DNS Factor's done a lovely job, especially if they're looking a little bit dirty where they've been stood like. Yeah, done a fantastic job. New valve stems in them and everything. Yeah, they got them a bit harder than I had. I had about 9 psi in the front, whereas there's probably about 20 in there a lot. But yeah, they've done a fantastic job. Very reasonable price. Yeah, if you want wheels doing, I would certainly recommend them. Certainly recommend them. Because they've done them, they've done the ones on the TW as well. The TW1's, what, two years now? Maybe even three? Could be three years. And again, apart from the fact that it's done the road running, it's a bit dirty. Lovely job. Absolutely lovely job. So, yeah, certainly would recommend them for... I mean, look at that from here. I mean, yes, we haven't got that one on, but that just looks so much better with that white on that front one now. And the blue hub. Such a difference. Such a difference. and of course, Super Gingy's lovely washers. You turn that out of a bit of solid bar. Solid bar. So you... You just spade drill through the centre on the lathe, which is the finish that it gives you on the inside. Beautiful finish. And then, part them off with a parting off tool, and then just chamfer the centres with a camper sink and a 55 tool on the outside. I mean, it's just... It's a simple thing, but it's just beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. You want to see the pile of shavings left? Yeah, can you not melt that up and I can use it again? It'll go for recycling, but it's one of those crazy ones like the job I did the other week where I was turning a whole load of solid points. The amount of waste you... Oh yeah, as much scrap as it is what you're doing, so. Super, mate, super. That does look the nuts now. Especially when you step away a bit, Ginger. I know we ain't got that one on, but at least sort of stand over here. That just looks... That looks pucker, doesn't it lot? That's making it. That does make it, doesn't it lot? Definitely from what they were. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. No, that is superb. Definitely. It's worth doing. Yeah. You just have to watch that. Whoa! Fucking hell. You just got to watch that scraper down there, mate. That's where it can catch. Okay, yeah. Go up a bit. Got to come my way a bit. Oh, try that. Hold on, let me go up. I'll have a couple of pumps I think. There you go. Bottom just dropped in. Yeah looks good, go for it. Hold on. Oh, flip that out. Just wanna... Oh, you're right, oh, yep. Oh, put it down Matt. Give him to let it go. Put it down, put it down, let it go, let it go, let it go. Tell you what Matt just said. What did he say? Yeah, just go for it. Whoop, whoop, sliding. Whoop! That wants a bit more, doesn't it? It's hard to tell, isn't it, lot? We're just on the ridge. Yeah, wants a bit more, doesn't it, lot? Just jack her a minute. Yeah. Yeah, I think we're on the Wonga bit, ain't we, lot? That's what it is. Yeah, let's see if... It's not the strongest. That's gone. That's gone. It's where we've got to go. It didn't do anything. It's far out, is it? Yeah, it's just hub's turning a bit, isn't it, look? Fucking hub. Don't you just drop her on the ground a bit? I think she's not just sitting... Tell me when. A bit more? It's a lovely valve on that jack, isn't it? You can just give it... It's just a little... Just so controllable. Yeah, it ain't done bad though is it like? I thought it would be a bit worse than that but the slide's quite nice isn't it? There we go. Does that look good or what? It's very good. What do you reckon mate? It's alright doesn't it? Take some wind out them tyres. Job being good and you know the new bolts and washers in there so it just looks pucker doesn't it? Just looks pucker. So yeah we've got to now swap Matt's, you what mate? Yeah there you go, that's what the old ones were. Could have tidied them up and everything like but it's easier to get new ones wouldn't it like? Absolutely. Yeah definitely mate, definitely. Yeah we've got to do Matt's sprayer now. So swap that over onto its fat tires but yeah happy days. So we're just on the way back, we're living cold now. Successful day though. The old UTV's burning. Some good lights they are. Can't be good lights can you? Very good. Yeah, it's going to be another cold one tonight. About minus one this morning. Dare say it's going to be colder in the morning. But yeah, no, very good day. Ginger's got all his, well, got basically that cross pipe and everything. that's all tacked up so you know he's just gonna weld it up now rather than guessing at home well he's got the old exhaust but it's just easy just to come and get everything sit on the tractor and everything in all in line and everything tack it up and then he yeah it'll get that all welded up and get that back together that'll be very that'll look well nice when that's done and be interested to hear what it sounds like as well because obviously it's going to be a bit different to the old one so it should be a bit more noisy a bit more rorty hopefully. Yeah be interesting to see what sort of sound he gets out of it. Yeah got them wheels back on which is good it's never it's never great when you've got to leave a you know a vehicle swip in the yard on um on stands is it like so that's that's good that's not gonna not gonna fall over now is it so yeah that looks uh DNS Factors, they've done a lovely, lovely job. Very easy to deal with as well, very, you know, competitively priced. Done a very good job and I'm sure, you know, I'll need to use, get some wheels done again, they will be, they'll be the guys I call up, so, yeah. Yeah, so we're just heading home now. Might pick up a cheeky Mackie on the way. Cheers mate. Cool. Yeah, might have to be done cheeky mackies. It's probably almost at quarter past seven now. It's late enough like. Oh, the other news. Yes, the other news. I've not shown you on this video and I won't ask to do another little video, specific video. Got the two new pups. Did I tell you? I thought I'd said I was getting pups, but two new pups have arrived. Yes, I shall do a future video where we'll have the new little pups in it. So that'll be cool. They're nine weeks old, full of madness. Lovely little things they are, lovely little things. So, yeah, so it's a bit chaotic in-house at the minute. But yeah, it's great having a couple of little pups. They'll be good, get them trained up. So anyway, I hope you all have a lovely... New Year. Here's to a prosperous 2026 and hopefully we all have a good year long. I'll see you on the next one. Ta-ta!

Getting the big ol' wheels back on the Ford FW with the help of Matt and the classic JCB Loadall plus the legend that is the Ginger Genius who was also test fitting the exhaust parts ready for welding up. Big thanks to D&S Factors for doing a cracking job on the wheels. https://www.dsf.co/dsf/
