SHELBOURNE REYNOLDS STRIPPER HEADER - ROPA - GRIMME - DEWULF

So we're on the Shelbourne Reynolds Spreadabout stand and something we don't tend to see in the UK much. I've seen one before. Stripper header. So this is a video demonstrating. The stripper header literally strips the head off the corner, leaves the stalk in position and you're just dealing with the ear. So what's the benefit of that? You can see how it works here. I'll take it down. You see how these are shaped to just pick the ears off that gets fed into the into the header up the elevator of the combine so nice simple idea. So what's the benefit? Obviously combines only dealing with ears it's not dealing with the straw as well so you're getting much much you know increase in throughput the combine because it's not dealing with all the straw as well you're just taking the header. There's a good bit on the video there, it just shows you, but that's showing you quite well. Look, you're leaving all the stalk just having the heads off, and it's working on a grass crop there. Look how wet the, you know, it's a wet old field as well. Yeah, I don't really know why we, I suppose I do know why we don't use them, because we, you know, we like to cut and bow the straw a lot. of course doing that like i say does limit throughput because the combine is dealing with all the straw as well so uh and this is a monster this must be 12 meters this this header not any numbers on it but that's got to be a 12 meter header um yeah lovely bit of british engineering but like i say this most of these are you know australia canada south america that sort of thing i'm guessing Nice to see the good range of spreader bow machines as well. All the different types of spreader bowers you can get. We are big veg and tater farms now. And sugar beet. So we've got Grimmy have got a big stand here. We've got DeWolf, Roper. Roper have got their tanks and military stuff here. So the tiger, the mouse, panther. But don't mention the war. I did once. I think I got away with it. You got away with it, did you? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Some impressive, I mean, massive bits of kit. I mean, I'm never going to get to operate some of that, but it makes a, you know, a Lexian 8900 look small. Massive thing, look. Good articulation on them rear axles, isn't it? full rear steer as well. Yeah, yeah, it'll crab steer so each tyre's going down a different track because you've got this Arctic, the front section's articulated then you've got two steering axles here so we're in line with that front axle then we're in line with the second axle and then the third axle is offset again so yeah. To move it. To move it side to side for, yeah, putting in a shed. The two wheels are the powered wheels then, and these ones are the... Yeah, these steer. So when you move it forward, obviously they twiddle around like. Yeah, yeah. Then they've got another... more intermediary conveyors that can join them up, if you know what I mean. So this isn't an intake. No, this obviously isn't an intake. This must be for putting into a shed. Yes. You'd have to sit the doorway of the shed, make the ployer. Yeah. The one that goes on the front of this is exactly the same, other than it's got a big intake hopper on it. Right. Drops into that. Drops into that. Then it goes up the chute. And you can see it's a two-stage chute, so that pokes out, it's like a telescopic boom. And it'll double the length of this lot. I wonder how that works with the conveyor? Well, they're two separate conveyors. They're two separate conveyors. Oh, no end. It's all one conveyor from top to bottom. Oh. Well, Fireman's Simulator 25 has let the side down because they're two separate conveyors. Oh, right. So the telescopic bit's its own conveyor, and obviously it just... The top of this conveyor drops it onto the next conveyor. Yeah, and it takes something in underneath. Yeah, it doesn't matter a lot. This looks like it's one piece. Yeah. Must be some big spring rollers in there or something. Yeah, it must double the underneath of it. Yeah, yeah. Use the extra length. Yeah. Some serious kit, ain't there? I mean, serious money and all. So that's the, I'll tell you what, that's the bit, yeah, that's the bit that goes on the front of that long conveyor bit we were just looking at. I know it's a different brand. Yeah, it is a cleaner, then. Well, this is a, what... On the game, because this is where all my expertise is coming from, this can either feed that conveyor to load into a shed, or it can put it into boxes. Oh, like going off the side? Off the side conveyor, like, yeah. So if you put it up until the conveyor goes on the conveyor, if you just leave it like this, it'll box it. So is this after it's been cleaned? Well, I don't know. Or is it all fresh and cleaned? Well, I think it's cleaning as well, because you've got two more conveyors there. This is the finished conveyor. I was just looking at all these plastic rollers. Yeah. So I think the taters drop off the back here and soil and other bits and bobs drop off on the other two conveyors. Right. Right. Because they're coming over all the rollers and the fingers and all that sort of stuff. So the taters, the tin clay, clean taters end up in this one here onto the other conveyor or the box. And all the crap goes into another box. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it just comes, yeah, it comes here. So you put one of your boxes here to collect collect the crap that comes off the soil and or just leave it in a pile and clean it with a loader or whatever. So that's what um... Oh yeah, it ain't just been chucked together has it lot? That's a big fair, that's a big mugger and all isn't it lot? Let's have a look up shall we? Let's have a butchers. Oh look we've got sensors there. I'm not sure what the sensors are measuring or what they do or whatever. They're something, don't they lot? Measure the flow or something? I don't know. It's all a bit beyond me, but it's impressive to see. And there's the grimy version of the conveyor we were just looking at on the DeWolf stand. Yeah, fair view from up here lot. So Dan was just saying these don't look at all vulnerable stuck outside on these TerraTrak units. We're on a Veritron 270. Yeah, it's a class Teratrac unit, isn't it? Yes, yeah, just with hydraulic drive. Yeah, yeah. To be fair, you are, I mean, it is inside the machine, but... Only just? Yeah, only just. It does just poke a little bit. I go out to a few during the winter. Yeah. They're usually always bent. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They've got bent panels bent, so... They're a big old lump, haven't they? They do crush them into buildings occasionally. Yeah, yeah. Especially around small farmyards. I'll say that it's a little bit vulnerable. That looks expensive if you were to crash that. Very expensive. You wouldn't be making the cool, would you like? To your boss or to the manufacturer? To the boss, I suppose. Yeah. I don't suppose they can make it any less deep, can they, lot? No, because it's a variable motor, isn't it? Yeah, of course it is. That's why it's on the crank. Yeah, it does just look a little bit... It just looks vulnerable. Yeah, yeah. Shouldn't be that far out, should it? And obviously they've got the tracks in set a long way so that they can accommodate it. Yeah, yeah. Because they're in a good couple of foot from the edge of the machine. Well, they are, because it's got wheels on this machine, the other side. Yeah, yeah, yeah. To show what it can do, they've got a set of row crops on, haven't they? A lot of stuff happening on in there, isn't there? Yeah, so this side, obviously a lot wider. But I suspect you could go with a super single like that 470's got on it. With the, eh? I don't know if it's track width adjustable. I bet it is, innit? That slides in and out? It does, yeah. It's got some sort of sensor. Yeah, that slides in that axle. That's a good idea. It is, but I've just broken you out. Oh, well done. The track side is fully in, though. And you'd have to keep it that way. Well, you could poke it that way, and the hoses and that would be... Oh, well, you'd have to remember that. They were there, weren't you? Oh, so they poke out? I don't think so, mate, no. No, I was just about to say, the other option is some super singles. So there's some Michelin Seri X bibs, VF tyres, 900s. That's the other option. Yeah, that does look fairly vulnerable, I have to say. Yeah, the German's really now to put a hedge cutting tractor together, although as you were saying... It limits it. You know, this is literally all bolted on, so you can't just drop it off in half an hour and go... I suppose it does come off. Yes. It's not like a front linkage come off, is it? Pop that off on Friday and Saturday go bail car. No. But, yeah, these are communal machines that Darren thought I was talking absolute rubbish. Oh, look, so you've got a ram. Is that for levelling? Yeah, the subframe. for this yeah it goes all the way back there look on a balling oh so it does come off well yeah but it also can make it mean that it can pivot slightly what's that ram doing then moving the whole lot what twisting it is it by the looks of it oh it is isn't it yeah oh up and down odds assume is it i don't know how far you'd get it to move no cameras on it look camera there yeah No, these are very well spec-nosed. So these are communal, so K-O-M-M-U-A-L. Hence the Rhin Orange lot. But yeah, very bespoke bits of kit. This looks like a little strimmer-y thing, doesn't it lot? If it was going the wrong strimmer, normally you cut that way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And there's loads of wire hanging out there. It's come out here, it's thrashing the ground. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's got its own oil tank and everything, hasn't it? So yeah, we're on the Bertie stand at the minute because we've got the teagle flail that you've seen on videos, which is actually a Bertie flail, just bashed as a teagle. Hence it looks exactly the same, same colour paint. They do a fair range of stuff. Even this big stuff like this folding flail here, toad stuff, side shifts. Yeah. All sorts of stuff. Yeah, like I say, that flowel's been good. Apart from the PTO's been a bit of a pain on it, like. But apart from that, they've got a fair stand here. Got a big old mulcher unit, excavator, flowel units there as well, for excavators. But yeah, got a destroyer of welds here. Look at that. It's a bit of a monster, that is. He's off. So some very nice machines here. This is either a Manitou or a Merlot. I'm not sure which. Triple extension boom with a tree saw head on the top. Yeah, some very nice gear here, lot. Truck mounted chippers, all that sort of stuff, lot. So we're at the Gen stand now. Well known for their chippers, lorry mounted chippers and that sort of stuff. That one there with the extending cab, chipper on the back. You are the man if you're driving that. Trailer mounted chipper there. All sorts of... Very nice stuff. I mean I dread to think how many quids worth of gear is in these ten holes. Just unbelievable.
