Rosie

Hey everyone, running a beauty business means wearing a lot of hats and your booking systems really shouldn't be one of your biggest headaches, especially when managing a robust salon or multiple salon locations. I am Sarah and I am a credentialed and experienced worker with years of salon work under my belt and you're watching Beauty Business Builders. So today we're going to dive into Rosie Salon software alternatives. So I'm here to help you simplify bookings and make sure that your salon is running at full capacity. Now there are several options that I think stylists and salon owners should consider if they are looking for a switch. I'm going to look at these six alternatives here compared for different profiles, right? A small team versus a solo stylist versus a salon with multiple locations will all have different needs, and that's why I'm comparing all of these six alternatives. Now, Rosie does a lot of things well. I don't want anyone to think that, but you might be looking for more general management solutions. Now, if that's the case, Salonist is a good option here. If you want more of a salon management solution, something that handles inventory, employee commissions, client management, billing, booking, all of that. You can see that there are a lot of other integrated tools here. With that, you have things like setting up your online profile. You can create your business. You can add photos and other media. You can look at things like inventory settings. It's a simple system that's laid out very well, if you want that same sort of robust general management solution with a more unified platform that includes things like marketing texts and emails, then you're going to want to pop over here to Boulevard. So where Solanist has a lot to offer when it comes to running basic business features and handling things like memberships and your calendar settings for availability and who's confirmed, who hasn't confirmed. Boulevard has a lot more when it comes to marketing and client management. In fact, client management and marketing are some of the things I like most about them. We switched when we opened a second location. So managing multiple locations, they can all be done right here. I can look at our San Diego location here. I can pop over to a Santa Barbara location if I need to, and I can see everything. We're going to pop back over to San Diego for the sake of this demonstration, but I can see everything right away. This front desk feature does a lot more than just handle my bookings as a salon. Now again, Rosie Salon is a perfectly good option for smaller units that are looking to manage simple basic booking functions. But if you need something more than that, which most of us will at some point, you have good alternatives. So again, that front desk function. I can see who has confirmed for their appointment, if we have any walk-ins for the day, who has already arrived for their appointment, not just confirmed to be a text, who's currently being worked on, and who has already completed for the day. I have this calendar function that I think is well laid out with each color, obviously indicating each of my staff members here. I also have really good client management. Even though the layout is simple, it is highly effective. You'll see here that how I can click on how every single client has this same very robust set of information. I can see Skype if they use Skype, emergency contacts, home address, pronouns if they have them, birthday information, what referral source they have, how they like to be contacted, whether they're part of the loyalty program over here, what files we have. If, for example, I want to take before and after photos, the gallery I have here with other photos, forms and charts they may have filled out, which is obviously things like forms generated for insurance purposes or simply for your business, especially if they are signing up for things you might offer temporarily, such as a loyalty program or a gift card. Then you have what products they may have purchased, what products you may have used, any packages they've purchased, memberships, what information they have on file for their wallet, history of appointments, what happened during those appointments, and any messages. So here I can just send a message, boop, and I can text them right away. Now, another thing I really like is that when I come back over here to that front desk or calendar function, Anthony King. There it is. Simple. And then, oh, that entire thing pops right back up. So for us, being able to look at all of these clients across multiple locations provided significantly better resources. Now, there are dozens of other things that are appealing about Boulevard for larger resources. The same as Salonist, you're going to find the ability to manage staff C commissions, which I think is very important depending on the way the business is set up. Now, for multiple locations. You can set up different products, different services, which I like. You can design different products. Maybe one of your locations sells products, maybe one of them doesn't. You can see this layout is pretty simple, right? Billing during out of stock. Inventory management with quick sale. So it's simple. It's effective. I think this is better suited for smaller salons, especially if you only have one location. Maybe you're looking to branch out to two. Boulevard is going to have similar reports, similar sales data, but I think it's going to be a better suit for larger organizations and those that have multiple locations. You have so many functions here that are all done under one system. Now, what about smaller teams and solo stylists, right? So that brings us down to Vegaro. Vegaro is a good alternative for smaller teams. I would say a handful of employees maximum and in particular looking to capitalize on this front facing platform. So as a professional you can list things like daily deals. Now this is what it looks like for me shopping as a consumer. If I'm looking for a salon and I'm looking for a particular deal for the day I can see which deals are available in my area. I can also see what is happening based on my location. I can search my location. I can search for a service. Let's say I want a hair color. I can see what's available right now in different areas. I can compare different services and different studios and salons. So this is where I think Vigaro stands out. If you are a small business, and I say that because the other features are somewhat limited, but if you are a small business. You can get very low support. Though they do provide multi-location support, I wouldn't recommend it. The prices go up incrementally for multiple locations. They also go up based on the number of employees you have, which is why I say no more than five or so, because after that, you're going to see a price increase that, with the a la carte features like the marketing features, is really going to push you into a different category of needs, and as such, you'd be better suited with things like Solanus or Boulevard. But for smaller organizations, absolutely consider Vigaro if marketing is important. It has a simple platform, simple features here, also a lot of different payment options, which I like. A lot of hardware that you can use for your business. You can grow with basic marketplace options, memberships, and marketing features. Their marketing features to me are very simple and effective. They are comparable to what Boulevard offers. They also have a lot of templates, so that makes things a little bit easier. And in terms of pricing, you're going to see this basic one location, right? You're adding an employee, you're adding multiple employees, and you can see these prices go up. So at some point, it's not going to be worth the savings, but eventually you'll need to expand and consider someone else. In the interim, this works really well. And as I said, you have that ability to use the marketplace to grow your business. You can put yourself out on that marketplace so that when clients are searching, they will see you pop up. You can offer daily deals, especially when you have things like extra openings, maybe last minute cancellations. And that's another area where I do think Boulevard has good campaigns. You can set up these automated campaigns for last minute openings, fill those time slots. Now, if we're getting even smaller, small, small groups, calendar is another option. You have a basic setup here for managing your appointments and making sure that you have good bookings, that you have good confirmation for your bookings. It's very simple, though. It's a step down from Figaro, and you're not going to get that front-facing platform as you would get somewhere else. So here you just set up your categories. People can make simple bookings and you can send confirmations. So that'll help fill your time. So if you're looking for something much more basic, products like no-show protection, some AI scheduling, AI chatbot, that is something to consider. They do have a digital storefront, which I like. So if you are selling things as well, you can pop over there. Now, if you're a single individual solo stylist and you want a good rosy salon software alternative. Fresha is very affordable. It's around $20 per month now. They used to have a free option. Now I add it to the list because the functionalities you get are pretty good. You have a catalog of adding memberships, adding products. If you are selling products, there's good inventory there. Some basic online marketing with blast campaigns. However, given that their pricing is no longer free for solo stylists and it's about $20 per month, you might be better off jumping over to Vegaro, but to each their own. And then finally, Square, which is free if you are a solo stylist and is going to take more for transactions rather than monthly payments, is the most basic, but it's pretty much where everyone starts, especially for seeing basic reports, managing staff if you have them, although if you do, I would suggest something else. sending payments, checking invoices, and of course managing sales directly from your chair. So there are some good rosy software alternatives. Fresha does have that basic setup with POS, client management, and appointments, but they no longer have the free option. So Vigaro is a good step up there with inventory and payroll management as well as your basic appointment tracking and of course this front-facing platform. Boulevard is going to be your best option for a unified platform. It's going to be one of the best decisions you make as you expand your company. So as you have more than five employees or multiple locations. So that's all for today on Beauty Business Builders. If this helped you, don't forget to subscribe. We are here to help you build a profitable, sustainable beauty business. Whether you are just starting out and you want that basic service, or you are growing and you want more marketing support, or you are a big business with multiple locations and you want to still keep your business growing. something that's sustainable and profitable.
