Tim Tries to Draw Things - Day 2

Okay, that was super annoying. We crashed. We crashed again. We crashed again. Why? Why? Why? Why does it crash? You know? I don't know. I don't know why it crashes, but it is infuriating that it does. Yes, it is infuriating. All right, let's get this here. All right, well. I'm back. It's gonna take a second for anyone else to be. But here we are and I'm going to continue. Super fucking annoying that it crashed again. So I'm just trying to figure out. I wish when it crashed, it The stream kept going and it just like was delayed and then I had to like resume on my end, but it actually ends the stream Which is a real bummer. I don't know what crashed same thing happened two days in a row Which is that something everything freezes. I'm getting a beach ball. That's not even a Spinning beach ball. It's like the dreaded frozen beach ball that then like jumps every 15 seconds to a different place and maybe I could wait it out for And then maybe I could wait it out for, you know, five, 10 minutes and it would come back. But I wait for a minute or two and I'm just like, all right. So I restart the whole computer and I come back and the stream has ended and I have to start a new stream. So it's not the end of the world, but it's just shitty because a lot of people I'm sure are confused and don't know that we are resuming, but we are. So we will continue drawing our sad boss. And I'm glad some of you made it here again. All right. What happened to the first boss? Did I hide him? Shit. Okay. I swear I had another boss down here. I think I deleted him by accident. Okay. Let's get our mean boss. Oh, audio echo. Thank you. Fixed. Oh, we were so close. I got like 94% of the way through the stream before the crash, which is extra annoying. I wish just, you know, it had just... stuck out for a little bit longer. But I wish I knew, because this is a... I bought the fancy MacBook Pro specifically because I wanted to do shit like this and not have it crash. So that is annoying, you know? Same size, put it down here. Okay. Now, what we have... Audio's still echoing. Still? No, right? It's over now. I think that's... I assume... Because there's a delay, so maybe you wrote that after I... Yeah. All right. Now, what we're going to do is we're going to take this shape. I'm gonna bring it. I'm gonna have someone... Wow, that's sick, Dizzy. Love to hear that. Really, that's like the most gratifying thing I can possibly hear is that someone dedicated their brain and energy for a lot of years to something good. And my blog helped direct that effort in that direction is sick. So that's great to hear. You're an aerospace engineer. What do you do? Where do you work? Okay, yeah, I figured. By the way, if any of you have ideas that you come up with for fun livestream ideas, I'm all ears. Because this is a brand new medium for me, and I'm into it. Okay. Space Station design. That is so cool. That sounds really exciting and fun. Use the same height. Maybe you'll get to go to the space station one day or to something I think what's gonna happen is here's my prediction the space industry space tourism industry is gonna get rolling and get better and better and it's gonna be more affordable and so first people will just be going over first we rich people going up, you know for a little space John's for a Couple days not a couple days. Sorry a couple hours, you know like the Richard Branson type John's and Then it'll go and they'll eventually be a new thing built. That's like a big amusement park Because the space station is huge, you know, size of a football field. There'll be a new one built that's just for tourism. It'll be like a resort, basically, that's floating around and people will go and that's going to get cheaper and more affordable. And eventually the same people who can afford to go to Disney World, you know, will be able to afford to go here. Maybe a little more expensive, but nothing crazy eventually. Because it'll just be cheap to take people to space. And then, you know, and that's going to be cool. A lot of us will go to space one day if we want to. People who really, really want to, I think will get to in their lives. And that's pretty awesome. All right, this thing. A large, integrate line of diamond. Integrate line of dominoes. I don't think so. Yeah, I'll leave that to Veritasium. Oh, you were talking about something else, but that is the kind of thing he might do. Yeah, a cosmic ray. That would be cool at least. At least, I hope it's a cosmic ray. That would be at least something cool. crashing this computer ruining the fucking stream while I'm trying to finish this the only saving grace I'll say in both streams is that it hasn't oh there's no music this thing is so janky just like switches and I have to like keep checking on things um the silver lining is I haven't lost any you know it's it the drawings have at least come back where I left them um five um and now Okay, so this is done now, but I want to actually create two. So I want to display first the first half when I'm talking about the good things about the Twitter cudgel. And then I'm going to show this the full situation. So I'm just going to, I think I'll just do something, a cheap little trick here and make a white box. No, I'm not sure about this half hill. I'm going to leave it, but I don't know if we actually need it. I'll have to decide that later. Okay. I wanted to get three of the four final things done here. Three of the four interlude things done, and we've done two. So, and then we're going to do a goodnight procrastination. Okay. So we did this, we did this. All right. The desk setup, I've got... Well, I can kind of show you, actually. Fucking everything up. Okay. So, the service here. Okay, so I've got my Yeti mic. I've got this thing, which goes on top of my coffee mug, which itself goes on top of this heater, which actually keeps a normal mug of coffee exactly the hotness I want, as long as I want. I bought one of those, like, what's it called? Ember mugs, and it was like a hundred and something dollars, and it was fine. Kind of janky and then you have to have that exact mug. And then I bought this $10 Mr. Coffee thing. Sorry, it's hard to see. Mr. Coffee on Amazon. And this like $1 piece of shit plastic thing that goes on top. And it is just as good. And I can use any mug now, wherever I am. So yeah, I like that. So I've got my big screen here. This is the Mac XDR. And... the Apple XDR. My Logi, uh, Logi, it's just like the normal Logi. It's great. It has both a mic, which I'm not, I'm not using because I'm using the Yeti, which is better, but it has a mic if you want to zoom. It's your mic and your camera because this extremely huge expensive screen managed to not come with a camera, a mic, or speakers. So I'm kind of annoyed about that. I think they thought that anyone who's buying this nice thing must have this amazing speaker setup, but I didn't. And so now I had to buy speakers or use my MacBook Pro speakers. Okay. So here I got the MacBook Pro and my, you know, this is the mouse and this, which is what I use for this. But so this, I'm using these and then I've got the, here's the sleeping dog. And so yeah, MacBook Pro. And that's about it. This is the pen to the Cintiq. And oh, and then I have this. I should have turned this on a while ago. I've got this light, this ring light. So everything here, except for this monitor, which is expensive, and this is pretty expensive. Everything else is not expensive. This Yeti mic is like $75 or something. And you know, the tripods and stuff, that's all cheap. This is the tripod that I'm using for this camera, which is what I've been... My phone is just for my phone, which is what I've been using to show this. Okay. Where it was somehow. Good enough. Okay. All right. Hey, Sachin. All right. Let's do... Okay, the last thing I want to do tonight. I talk about a smear, right? The concept of a smear as opposed to criticism. A smear is different. A smear is... slander, you know, it's not, it's, it's, it's not accurate and it's intended to destroy reputation. Um, and it's not fair. It's not, it's not like, you know, so, so if you go back here, it's like this boss was not smeared and this is the thing. Um, yeah, the Logitech, Logitech webcam attaches. What's sick is when I turn They made it obviously with this monitor in mind because when I turn the big XDR monitor into portrait mode, you can't see me, I realized. Yeah, you can. When I turn it into portrait mode, which I do for these big Microsoft Word doc, I can see six pages at once and it's just a better revision to have it vertical than horizontal. I don't like the pages next to each other. I want it to be. Or just, you know, even if I don't have it in page mode, just if in web mode, it's like amazing how much text I can fit on my screen when it's in a portrait mode. But what's nice is the Logitech camera doesn't have to move. It just automatically does its reverse. And now if I'm on a Zoom call, I'm still face, I'm still, I'm not sideways. It's great. Great product. And the cord is the exact length that it should be to go right into the thing in the back. I love... but things are well designed and that's well designed. In general, between the XDR display being really good at turning portrait and all the software just adjusting automatically because it's made by Apple, this is the one reason that it's good to get the Apple monitor. That and the Logi also turning sideways. It's so seamless. I can turn portrait and everything's... I've used monitors before where you turn it and everything's a mess and you have to reconfigure it for a while. Yeah, I went for it with the monitor. What I was saying yesterday is I didn't I didn't plan on buying this monitor because it just seems like it's for people I didn't need it. But what I really wanted was that I had a 27 inch iMac, which was 5k. So that's a certain resolution. It's really, really great resolution. And I was used to it. I'm staring at this thing all day, right? And I'm doing drawings on it. I want really, really good resolution. But I also really want size like I was like, you know, going for the going for the bigger monitor, 32 inch was, it's a huge difference, 32 inch to 27 inch. It's like 50% more space. And I just felt so much like less claustrophobic, just like suddenly it's just like super, everything was super open. I could just fit a lot of, I could fit a really big drawing on it or I could fit, you know, three documents of notes or even four note docs on it, whatever. But... Everything out there that was bigger than 27 inches was lower res. There was like a 4K, which is 32 inch, which is going to be way lower res than I'm used to. So the only monitor out there that was bigger than 27 inch and also the same resolution as 4K, sorry, as the 27 inch 5K, which is a 6K for the only 6K32 was this. And between that and the fact that it's just beautiful and it's matte finish, you know, matte display. And then the fact that you... You know, you can do it. Portrait is just enough. I said it's worth it. But I do think there's a hole in the market for just, you know, LG. Where is LG's 32-inch 6K monitor for $2,500? You know, where is that? It seems like it's such an obvious product. They sell their 27-inch 4K or 5K for, I think it's like $1,100 or something. So, or $1,200. So double that price, add the 5 inches, and... That's how I feel. Yeah, I think I'm going to help justify people's tech spending because I do think if you're, you know, it's not a normal purchase. If some of us, I'm one of these people, I'm just on my computer all day. This is my job is staring at this thing. Same with our phone. We're on our phones all the time. Like, get a nice phone, right? Like, and upgrade your phone every... three years. You know, don't wait seven years. And because you use this thing every second, it's just worth the money versus other things you spend money on that is, you know, a one night outing or something, which is, it's not bad, but it's like, if you're going to spend it on that, definitely go nuts with the tech purchases that you use every single day, all day. That's how I feel about it. Which is also why I got the really nice MacBook Pro. And one thing I liked is on the iMac, I used to use the iMac, which is its own computer and the MacBook Pro. And it was super annoying when I'd want to like go, go mobile with the Pro and go to a coffee shop. And I'd have to like make sure all the documents were updated in Dropbox. I'd have to like reopen all the Word documents. Cause you know, and what, what, what, what did I have open in my tabs? What did I, so now it's just nice because this MacBook Pro is my, is always my, it's my only computer. And so it's either plugged into the big thing or it's not, but whenever I, whenever I open it. it's exactly where it was left off on the big screen so i like all that um i i don't really game because i would definitely get addicted and do it all the time like i i just it's yeah but but maybe when i finish this book as like a as like a treat i'll like get a good game situation i do have the um the oculus quest 2 which is awesome And I'm kind of not letting myself dig in until I finish this book fully. But okay, if anyone has the Oculus Quest 2, you have to play Justin Roiland's game. He's the creator, co-creator, and the voice of Rick and Morty and co-writer. So if you like Rick and Morty, Trover is the VR game he made, which is so funny and amazing. It's an incredible, it's like the most fun I've ever had playing a game. And it's like, you know, it took 20 hours, 25 hours to beat it. But it's like Rick and Morty style humor throughout. And I could not recommend it more. All right. Let's finish up. Okay, so the last thing we're going to do, we're talking about smears, right? This guy is not smeared. But this person was smeared, meaning they're not being fairly canceled. But this guy is fairly canceled. So I'm going to try to depict. I'm not talking about the anatomy of a smear. How does it work? And so we're gonna draw a character who's been smeared. And by the way, if I crash again tonight, I'm just gonna quit because I'm almost done. I don't think I will, but just in case. If it crashes again, we'll see you tomorrow. Noon or one. What am I doing here? Okay, we're doing smear. All right. I like the late night crowd. This is like the weird hours for all the weird people. We're having fun. Oh man, high school. Christopher, I feel bad for you. Let me just tell you, nothing is as bad as high school. As far as like the hours and the fact that you have all this homework and all these tests and it's stressful to get to get good grades and you've got extracurriculars and your parents are up your ass and it's just it's just bad in retrospect. There's obviously there's fun parts but to me It was the it's never it's been all downhill since then. So I'll uphill whatever whatever's better. Yeah, homeschooling might be the way of the future.
