We've got a jetting job at the end of the week. muck cart tractor is carting muck so i thought the good opportunity to get it out and we'll get her on the fast track all right i've just topped the fluids up on her um check engine oil transmission oil coolant level need a little bit of coolant but apart from that see if she starts it's been it must be over well over a month since we started um should do i did have to put um Oh no. Well, that's not good. They're new batteries. Well, I put them on just for Christmas. We've obviously got a bit of a... something's drawing a bit. They shouldn't have lost... got nothing. Absolutely nothing. Lovely. That's going to be fun. What a pain and proverbial that is. So I'm not even going to bother trying to start it on completely dead batteries. I've been there, done that. So we'll have them out and get them charged up. Whether that thing, the two-way, I'm sure that was off. Because that's what drained it last time. Just sitting there for two or three weeks, it just trickles enough out that given enough time it will kill the batteries. So I may unplug that. Anyway, let's get these batteries out. Alright, so we've got them going. So that one's reading 9.4 to 9.7 at the minute The old Winel quick booster is jingling along quite nicely on that battery there That's obviously got a bit more in it because I had to get that battery which the Sealy is charged at the minute You have to trick the Sealy because anything under 10 volts um and it won't fire up it just goes into error so you put this on get it so it's over 10 this was that was actually it was 4.7 that battery so really low so put this one on for about a couple of minutes right up banging off the 12 12 amps there like um that got above 10 then i could put this one on so that one's on there and then this one's actually just sort of like uh four and a half amps charging that one so they're away leave them busy at it and yeah hopefully yeah hopefully in a few hours they'll be charged up all right so we're just uh well just milling at the minute so we're loading up out the bin while they all go into the bucket and then um in the shed i'm milling uh you know growing in the week so it's not been quite 24 hours it's probably been 22 hours or something like that since i put them batteries on charge about an hour ago the sit charger got it at 80% so hopefully hopefully the batteries will be alright so I'll get all this done and then get a chance later we'll stick them on and get the jetter on ready for tomorrow so yeah no isolator on that fast track which is annoying I was speaking to Darren yesterday about the dyno day that's coming up on the 7th of March over at King's at Bob Manchester if you want to go or bring a tractor, let me know. I mentioned it to him and he said he can get pole-mounted isolators. I was like, oh, I didn't even know you could get a pole-mounted isolator that mounts on the battery itself. So there's obviously twin batteries in there, so it's a little bit of a fat. I've got two of them coming from good old Amazonia today. I'll knock that off now, that's about full. So, this time of year I'll just isolate it. It's obviously got a bit of a draw on it from somewhere. So it's been, like I said earlier, I think it's been about a month. I'm sure that two-way radio is off, but something's drained it and that's probably the most likely culprit. right so both batteries are roughly up to about 80 percent i would like to leave them well till tomorrow really so they get to 100 but i want to obviously got this jetting job tomorrow so i want to put them in and uh see if they're actually gonna they should work it you know should have enough cranking power 80 uh 80 percent if not i'll get another set of batteries another 300 odd quid all right but um should be all right so We'll get them in. Amazon are on their way with the isolators, but if not, I should just take the negative terminals off anyway overnight. But we'll get her in, get her fired up, and we'll let her do a high tick over for an hour or something like, just to get warm. Hopefully replenish the charge that we take out from starting the tractor. So, yeah, fingers crossed they should be alright, like. Should be alright. Oh well, we've got very misleading the post on the description. There's two in the initial picture, two of these posts, but it only speaks of one in the description. So I thought, well, I'll get two. They're not expensive anyway, lot. But I've got two spare now. You couldn't get a more simple design. So that obviously goes on the pole, the battery. That's quite an odd shape. That's where your cable will go on. And that's simply how you disconnect. You undo that a bit. See what happens when you undo it all the way. It doesn't slide out or anything like that. Oh, I see it makes the connection up the top here. So when you're down like that, that's when it, yeah, I see how it works. Quite simple. There's various different designs. There's ones with switches and that sort of stuff, but these were the most compact. because of course you've got to think how much room you've got around your battery a lot of car batteries you don't get any room at all do you so fortunately on this they're flat batteries you know flat top of the batteries are flat with the poles sticking up so there is plenty of room but I thought I'd just go over these simple ones and see how we get on so we'll fit these now and we're ready for a start well fingers crossed anyway all right so that is the issue with these pole mounted isolators you've got to have some fairly flexible extra amount of cable because obviously your your pole on your batteries goes up like that but these are coming out horizontal so um i have just worked but they're not that one there's quite a twist on it really quite a twist on it if they don't work very well we'll try something else a lot but um we've got to do yeah i've got to do that that terminal up there and we're ready to fire we should be live actually at the minute so right cross your fingers so that's a right old result um yeah we'll leave uh chicken over at 1200 we're gonna go get some straw now from upfield We'll leave that ticking over, we'll get the jetter on. She'll have had an hour purring away, charging up and getting warm and everything, so it should be good. Yeah, things are a little bit wet down here, but they always are. I think it started where we are now, it's probably where the stack was when we started taking off it. Just saw quite a few bowels up here. As you can see the ones in the middle, yes the outside ones are a bit manky, but the ones in the middle are really quite good. They're cooking for over an hour. So, yeah, get Jester on. Get Jester on, give it a quick test. Just make sure it's all right. And, yeah, dinner time. It's over a lot. Gone dinner time it has. There you go. Shut that. Right, so we've got the suction in the tank. You may see we've got a bit of water coming out. That's because the PTO is not on brake, so it's just slowly turning on its own. Which obviously means it's all working anyway, but we'll fire up properly. Let's give it a whiz. I think they're ugly. Let's give you a demonstration of what the jetting looks like. Right, so that's the bomb. So we've got one forward-facing, six rear-facing jets on this. We've got a Ford 40k weight holding it down. Should be enough, we'll find out in a minute. 6.30. Sprayback, there you go. So that one there is for cutting your obstacles and that is your propellant. And that's all that. 700 revs have been got to 1,000, so we can get a lot more pressure and a lot more flow going through. But, yeah, that's all it is. Not bad for, you know, for a little tractor-mounted jetter. Yeah, 760, so 900. Well, that's kicking arse anyway. Knock her off. Jobs are good. So, yeah, we got there eventually. We'll disconnect, well, we'll reel that jetting line up. and plug her up, isolate them batteries. Yeah, jobs shouldn't be good and we're ready for Henry tomorrow. Just take these off. Looks like they'll work anyway. That's them isolated, so we'll just try the key. See, we shouldn't have any ignition. A little bit of luck. Yeah. Oh, wow. They worked, didn't they? So, jobs are good. Shouldn't they? shouldn't lose any battery by the morning then so jobs are good boys
