how we're doing so today beautiful absolutely beautiful sunny day light breeze definitely a nice spring day and we're at well i'm actually at shuttleworth college which is just down the road from me at a um a doze working come and drive come and have a look at uh some gear day so we've got a selection of you can see all down there we've got four five we've got five tractors five new island tractors obviously um with lemkin stuff various lemkin cultivators of various different types um and i thought well we'll come down to this first one here no one here at the minute unfortunately the weather's been probably just a bit too kind because it's such a nice day people are going to be spraying fertilizing drilling all that sort of stuff and possibly not coming here which is a bit of a shame because obviously a bit of work goes into getting all the machines here and setting them up and that sort of stuff. So, right, you remember at Agri-Technica which I've still got quite a bit of film to show on the channel from Agri-Technica. I was looking for a nice lightweight compact disc. I was looking for a four meter one actually but this is a nice little three meter. So this is what what do they call this? So this is a Heliodor 9. So two rows of opposing scallop discs in this case on a on a big spring as you can see. We've got a coil packer at the back with They're kind of scrapers, aren't they? But they keep the coils clean. But the thing about that is it's quite light weight. Not very heavy duty at all. Hydraulic levelling on the coupler there. Let's have a go. So she's a 225 like the farm's got, but in blue power livery. So let's get a spark top and have a go. So this is nice and familiar in here. It being a 225, so a standard little base. This has still got the old cab on it. We have actually got the new standard wheelbase here. They're not available just yet, but it's getting closer. It's getting a lot closer. So yeah, old cab in here. So basically the same as the ones on the farm. So we'll just pop the rear window over in a minute. So I've already got auto four wheel drive and auto diff lock engaged. So we will go and lift her up, put her back down again. So we're in F2, that's simple enough. Put her in forwards, auto handbrake is off and we're off. Like that because that's noisy. We're actually going over, we're working this field 90 degrees to the way it's normally working so we're crossing the work at the minute but tell you what, it's doing a nice job. A bit of aircon going, it's surprisingly warm today, really surprisingly warm. Yeah, so this is obviously no bother at all to a 225. That's doing a nice job, and there's a bit of moisture sling the ground on. These are back, these up, yeah. We'll just go back down that same row a minute, just see how it copes with working on what we've just worked, so obviously it's obviously a bit wetter because I've just upset it. We've just been through it, but... That's doing a hell of a job that is. It's a nice bit of kit that is. I wonder if they actually do a four meter version. But it needs to be four meter folding. Which a lot of companies they don't tend to do do they? Because you only like folding a couple of discs in. So, but yeah lightweight, simple, not too deep. Nice bit of kit. Obviously the coil packer on the back that That doesn't weigh a lot, not like a double D pack or a tooth pack a lot, they weigh a lot more a lot. The tractor's in fully auto mode obviously. So obviously as we lift it up, diff locking, four wheel driver, disengaging. Drop her in all on the joystick and away we go again. The tractor's just giving enough, I mean it's, how many revs are we doing? So we're doing... at 1200 revs i think there's my engine speed in a different spot to it is on the ones at the farm yeah doing 1100 revs uh nine kilometers an hour so not really any bother at all so we're going fairly deep there four or five inches made a nice job yeah so tidy little bit of kit that is quite like that yeah nice bit of kit so we've got the big 340 hd there with a carrot 10 so that's a five meter Trowled, obviously trowled. Three sets of tines, I think, some levelling discs up front and then packers at the back, so it's like an all-in-one-pass machine. Nice bit of kit, 340 on the front, lovely bit of kit. High forward speed, get the soil boiling, lovely job. A lovely 315 HD, Coraline 9. So you can see six metre, duck foot tines. Rear packer, rear levelling tines as well. Very nice bit of kit. Again, doing a nice job. I mean, this is not the sandiest, so it's some decent soil lot. Yeah, knocking it down quite nicely. It is wet. Quite wet inside still, which I think quite a few people are finding that, dry on top but wet underneath. experience proper experience with lemkin as we did when i was working for henry we had a six furrow plow we had on demo very nice bit of kit um yeah it was a nice bit of kit that was not here because it smells beautiful now that freshly turned soil smell oh god it's one of the best smells you can that and like freshly cut grass freshly cut grass freshly turned soil beautiful smells aren't they beautiful Right, so this is the Rubin 10, basically an upgraded version of the little one we were looking at first, on the 225. This is obviously a five metre, I'm guessing, five metre compact disc. So two different, actually, different set up for your spring loading. So a cool spring on these, where that one was a big old leaf spring. But yeah, two rows of opposing discs. Big packer, rear transport wheels. Yeah, doing a nice job. Air brakes on this as well. There's a T6 180 DC. And you better get a nice front press on it. Big front press. That's a Vario packer. Then you've got the Crystal 9 on the back. Quite an underrated cultivator these are. But do a mighty job. We had one of these, if you remember a while back, Normac show. Would it be three years ago because it's biannual. We had this, me and Muckle had one of these on Tummoor's Schluter. They do do a nice job. They do a nice job. Good to see a few different bits of stuff working. I would have got in more. I only got in the one tractor in the end. But yeah, limited time. And I did like to get a bit of outside. It was nice to get some outside footage again. I like doing that. But like that first simple compact disc we see, that is a nice bit of kit and it is available in a four metre. So there goes the 340. Very nice bit of kit. Yeah, so, yeah, food for thought that is. I didn't, you know, didn't really consider Lemkin lot, but yeah, that's a, you know, obviously they offer the both sort of, you know. two different specs like two different sort of you know your simpler machine and then your your contractor machine so to speak like so that was yeah cool to see that was something to think about yeah like I said no new tractors here at the minute but they are coming and as soon as we do as soon as Doze or New Orleans get one to look at we'll be having a proper look at it one of the short wheelbaters and I would like to see one of them XD's 440's I don't know what I'll do with it because I mean they're monstrous machines but still I'd like to have a look at one that is a sure fact
