Aggressive vs Conservative Challenge

What's up guys? Welcome to another golf challenge. This one is my nemesis. This is going to be the aggressive versus probably smart play. So I'm going to play three holes. I'm going to play two balls. One I'm going to play aggressive. One I'm going to play smart. So that means on the first hole, the 360 yard or so par four driver and then three iron. And then play it out from there. See what happens. Okay, aggressive is off to a good start. Now let's see what happens with the three iron. Kind of towed that one. Should still be in play. Alright, not a great start for the conservative play pulled it left into the woods I got about 130 yards, but I just need to hit this one up by the green That's the idea just get it up in the air and up there by the green. I'm gonna hit a 56. Oh wow Okay, that turned out fantastic. That is on the green. So okay, so tee shot Aggressive tee shot turned out pretty good. It's just off of the car path that has some tree trouble I'm gonna just try to hit a little 8 iron punch shot and roll it up there see if I can get close all right I'll take that okay this is a fantastic start to this challenge so two putts at birdie okay so the conservative wedge out of the woods ended up just on the front part of the green way better than I expected got about 15 or so feet for birdie then the aggressive one a little bit long similar distance down the hill I'm gonna put both of these see if I can make one oh you gotta hit it gotta hit it clean this up par that was just a terrible read all right two pars that is a great start to this this next hole the par three over water um yeah this one last time i was here i hit two tee shots in the water so still trying to figure out what the conservative play is and what the aggressive play is but we'll find out okay so conservative and aggressive play here It's going to be a 6 iron either way because it's 192 yards to the middle of the green. So, 6 iron is probably the right club. You can't really go super long. Now, what I'm going to do conservative, I'm going to try to take it out left. You can bail out left, this room over there, and then for the aggressive, I'm going to go straight at it. That's what I would normally do here, which I know is not smart, but I'm going to take one, just go left side, just try to catch the green, but, you know, play it safe, and then go straight at it. So, we'll go conservative first. I think... I think that is just left of the green. A little short. It wasn't an amazing hit, but I think it's up there. We'll find out. It's a little hard to see. Now let's go straight at it. Oh, I pulled it. Just pulled it, but I pulled it left. So I am left, probably a little bit past pin high. Both of them are okay. So we'll just see if we can get up and down. Okay, so conservative shot, just about pin high, just off the green. I'm going to hit a little bump and run here. Not what I would normally do. Normally I'd... try to take one high and land it you know three feet from the pin I'm take a 52 degree try to bump it on there roll it down it's in a little bit of a bowl so see if that works out come on get over the hill just checked out more than I thought it was going to I was gonna release a lot more than that out of this but I just clipped it super clean so let's go play the aggressive one okay so in no world is this the place where you want to play it high there's plenty of green to work with just you know put just punch it on there let it roll out you're good to go That's just not what I would do. I'd play it high, see if I can land it close. There's water behind it. It turned out better than the conservative, but that's kind of the thing. It's so hard to gauge the distance. I was trying to land that five feet further at least. It just didn't work out, so two putts for par. Yeah. Challenge here. Playing conservative, one conservative, one more aggressive. What works out? Oh, get up there. You gotta hit it. So far we're tied. Tied up again. So two bogeys. Wait, yeah, two bogeys on that hole. Not terrible. Like I said, last time I was here, I put two in the water. So I will take that. This next hole is the true test of conservative versus aggressive. There is water all down the right, water down half of the left, super exposed to the wind. So this one should be fun. Okay, so this hole is even longer than last time I played it. Last time I played, the tee box is over there. So this is all water carry. There's not really... Super easy shot here at all. So aggressive first driver cut as much as possible. Just swing at it It's downwind and then I'm gonna try to take a three wood a little further left. Oh, no I knew it. I just pushed it just pushed it out right with a terrible swing Okay, I'm gonna try to hit a three wood out there and more left Just try to play one Safer okay, so that's through the fairway on the left, but it's safe. I think I'm gonna have to tee off and hit a Hit three from here because I didn't go over any land so aggressive still has to tee off again Okay Well, I'm gonna go up there and drop because I don't just want to keep throwing golf balls away But I think this is sort of the really differentiating hole here It's a conservative play all day as you can see two drivers in the water I'm just going to go drop up there and finish it out. But it looks like conservative is going to take the dub. Okay, so I'm just finishing this out. This will be the one in, two out, three in, four out. This is five, I guess. I don't even know. I'll figure it out. This is the aggressive one. About 150 something yards out. Downwind, I'm going to hit a nine iron. See if I can just get it on the green. Aggressive is not playing well right now. Okay, so the conservative tee shot, it ended up here in the rough. Sitting down a little bit. I got about 92 yards. If I were playing this normally, I'd probably go straight at the pin, but there's trees there, so I'm going to play a little more conservative. Out to the left, it's more of a gap. Just try to open up a 56 and hit something up there. Yeah, that got a kick left, so might actually be okay. Okay, so aggressive right here. I don't know. 15 yards, 20 yards short of the green. I'm going to keep with the... I'm gonna go up it's flop shot. There's no need to do it, but it's the aggressive one, right? It was never the play here, but Phil Mickelson, man, what are you gonna do? That's all I was trying to do, just trying to get it within three feet of the hole. Hopefully tap that in for par. And then of course I have to chip this other one off the green because aggressive, what are you gonna do? Okay, what we learned there is that I still can't putt, but aggressive ended up like an eight on this hole, I think. conservative ended up with a bogey just because I can't putt so I think conservative ended up two over for the whole challenge for three holes and Aggressive ended up I don't know whatever that is a lot so I should probably learn from this probably won't but yeah anyway that's it for this video thanks for watching sorry about the wind see on the next one

One of the biggest reasons I don't shoot lower scores is because it's hard for me to resist the temptation to hit driver on every hole and go for the hero shot. This challenge turned out to be a great example of how that comes back to bite me haha
