Esthetician Diaries: A Week In the Life of a Salon Owner + Supply Shopping

The color bun is getting. Why am I in here doing this? Oh, my lips is dry. What is UPS? I don't have a box. Damn, I don't know why I thought this was USPS. This man paid $34 for shipping. Well, $24. $24.08 for next day shipping. but that doesn't make any sense because this man paid bought a bottom of a root which is like 32 dollars because it's a 30 it's 32 ounces 32 he paid for next day shipping he's located in charlotte there's no reason for him to be paying for next day shipping but i'm about to pack it and send it out so my camera died i'm eating a soft peppermint but my camera died so it is now i think it's like 7 30 and i gotta set up this it's a replacement for one of the dryers i hope i don't be in here all night trying to set this up though the lighting is so much better in here i gotta figure out what these like oh maybe it's not maybe i lied but yeah this is the dryer that we're changing out hopefully it's not hard to do i feel like i'm gonna have to call my dad or my man yeah i feel like i should be able to just lift this out of here though okay we got that part out now let's see how easy this is gonna how easy this is gonna be getting and out the box i'm trying to get content y'all dang they take this down so good i mean i guess i'm glad i really should have called amanda come do this because why am i in here doing this y'all know what though i don't even know if this fits like they have the filter yeah they have the this just don't have my trip to do with another top i hope this fit i'm gonna be so sad if it don't but it should i don't see why i wouldn't okay let's slide this bed i wonder if i'm definitely not taking that outside i'm gonna wait till man come and uh move that because i'm not doing that let's test it out put it on perm okay see how hot it gets this was a really good dryer too i hope the old dryer that i'm replacing was a really good like it got so hot look at that new dryer smell i'm gonna let them come and play with it and see how they feel about it hopefully they like it hopefully it gets hot enough but it is i don't know what time it is now and you know what welcome to my channel my name is britney devon if you are new here hey if you're not new here welcome back i am a licensed esthetician i am also a salon owner i own B Luxe Beauty Bar I have products exfoliating scrub and growing hair serum and we're releasing some new products this year and I take you guys on my journey of being a business owner um soon I will be doing another business venture um so yeah I'm in my salon now and y'all just seen that I had to switch out this lighting is really good right here I gotta figure out what lamp what light this is or what kind of light bulb but yeah um i just had to switch out a dryer um hopefully it works for the salon the hair stylist i think i think one of them works tomorrow so we'll see how it does um but yeah it's probably almost eight o'clock and i'm hungry i haven't ate anything today i only had a smoothie and that was like around two ish so i'm starving so i'm probably about the i gotta go to the grocery store and get a few little things i'm not even getting a lot i'm just getting a few to be able to make something tonight and then i'm taking it home because but yeah see y'all later so we walking into happy lovey but this time we're here for small sticks and not our big sticks and the small sticks are typically 99 cents as well like the sticks that i use for eyebrows and lips stuff like that by now you would think that people are like used to seeing people with cameras in stores but maybe not maybe not but yeah oh it looked like they got something on sale they be pissing me off okay because look at this foolishness so these sticks right here are the jumbo sticks you get 75 for 99 cents and these are normally 99 cents as well because they're like the smaller ones oh wait hold on hold on hold on because they got some let me move all of these they put the 149 was in the front and then they put the 99 cent was in the back but the lady was saying that like if I bring the ones that are 99 cents up there and like you know they were price matched them so I think I'm gonna get one two three I think I'm gonna get four of these or five I'm gonna get I'm gonna get six that's six dollars but yeah they playing music so i'm gonna see y'all at the shop hey y'all happy thursday yeah today's thursday so y'all didn't see me at all yesterday after i got to the shop yesterday was so long like and it wasn't even like a long long day but the services i had took long so it just felt like it was so long so i got off yesterday probably around what time did i leave the shop yesterday i don't even remember that's how long yesterday was but i mean nonetheless it was a good day we had some nice clients we made some good money so that's all that matters and today is thursday we have i think six clients today um and they're all back to back which i love like i love having all my clients back to back because i can get them out the way like my first client is at 12 30 and i think my last client comes before i tell the story my last client come at 3 15 so all my clients are literally back to back to back today i love it get in make my money and get out i don't got to be in there all day to make no money that's the that's the one thing i love about being an esthetician and specializing in full body wax and like Brazilians are my number one thing so typically all I want to do like on a normal day six clients a day is my like mark is what I like what I want to do every day now not to say like exactly because I'll take six to ten clients a day ten is a really busy day but it's a really good money day and i feel like 10 is my cap to where like i am going to be tired but it's if it's all brazilians then i don't really mind but like six to eight is like my sweet spot like i'll be able to make all my money a good amount of money today and then that's not to mention if people want to do add-ons like if they they want to not add-ons because once you book your appointment you book your appointment but if people want to buy like products and stuff like that like that's just extra so i love when i get to just do brazilians all day and that's what i have today i have all brazilians today so y'all are really not gonna see me much at the shop um just because y'all not seeing me set up like a thousand times i feel like um but i don't know maybe i might record a little bit of that because i think not yesterday but the day before y'all saw me setting up um and you know what that reminds me i need to edit those videos um but yeah y'all saw me setting up because i had to buy i had to replace one of the dryers um and i have to take that trash out because i haven't done that yet because after yesterday when i tell y'all i was dog tired like today drained me dog tired so yeah I gotta go to the ATM before I go to the shop um because I'm doing this thing now where I just deposit all my money into the bank account because I'm um trying to be not I'm not trying because I'm doing it but being better about my business money my business habits like structuring my business better ways making sure my money is in the right places so that like we can do certain things with our money so yeah i'm gonna run to the um atm real quick and then i'll be at the shop and i'll probably pick y'all up at some point once i get to the shop it is 5 30 and i am on my way to hot yoga i love when it's warm outside like this is my favorite time of year it's warm outside the sun is out like i just feel like everybody is so happy and such a great mood like and even though like i've got i just got some really really good news like once i was getting ready to leave the shop i got some really good news so i'm just in like the best mood oh my god i'm so happy wanted to pick my camera oh and i first got in the car but that's all i'm gonna say is people just in the event you know but yeah so I'm on my way to hot yoga I'm so excited like I haven't been y'all don't know I've been taking swim lessons so my dad swears that I knew how to swim when I was younger and then I fell in the pool head first I think I was like four years old I fell in the pool head first and ever since then like I've been I haven't been afraid of water but I'm not going to the middle of the pool like if my feet are starting to float I'm getting to the edge like I want to be I used to want to be by the edge at all times where I feel like I would be safe but I've been taking swim lessons for the past two months and the schedule it's been we've been going three times a week and the schedule has been so intense and then so like the days I would normally go to yoga I'm going to swim so then I'm changing my work schedule so that I can work later so I haven't been able to really go to yoga like that like in the past two months I probably went to yoga twice and that was last week I went to yoga last week no I went to yoga Tuesday and I went to yoga last week Thursday yeah so um my strength isn't what it used to be which I did notice that Tuesday like I do have a weaker side because I cut my hand um washing dishes I had to get 10 stitches in my hand so let me roll these windows up because I don't know if y'all can hear me but I cut my hand so like my strength hasn't been the same just trying to like make like try to reposition my hand and it's my right hand by the way um so when i do my like side um planks and stuff like that it's always a little shakier than my left side my left side is perfect but my right side is my weak side and i've noticed that it has gotten weaker since i haven't been doing yoga these past months so I'm excited to go to yoga today and I get to see Ryan like Ryan is Ryan is the first instructor I tried I think yeah I think Ryan is the very first instructor that I tried and I don't know what made me go to his class but I tried him and ever since then like I've been stuck I stalk Ryan's classes he played good music um and I just love like he has just such a great message after class even during class sometimes like sometimes I feel like Ryan don't be why is you reading my mind like get out of there but yeah I'm so excited to see Ryan I know he gonna talk junk because he hasn't seen me in a while and he'd love to side eye and be like because where have you been uh I cannot wait to see Ryan I'm so excited although I know I'm about to get my butt kicked because i mean technically typically wednesdays typically wednesdays aren't that bad for me but again i've only been to two classes in the past two months so we're gonna see we're gonna see what this is giving but it's 5 35 i'm in five o'clock traffic so i'm about to play me a little music and enjoy the ride y'all i'm on the street nah let me not even let me not even relive it see y'all oh about to get caught in the red light but yeah i'm about to play my music i don't know the collarbone the collarbone is getting y'all i'm in such a great mood i feel like when i'm in my get money era it's only two people technically okay when i'm in my three get money era i feel like it's three people i like to listen to rick ross future and jeezy jeezy jeezy make you want to get a bag like rick ross make you want to spend a bag rick ross make you want to get and spend a bag jeezy make you want to get bag like Jeezy make you want to get to work right now and future just future just future so i got my little matches like my little songs that i like to play you know but let me i'm about to play some Jeezy i'm in a mood i'm in a mood to hear some Jeezy and like old school Jeezy like like, Travel or Die. So I was here, I was here Tuesday and I was they had the heat and humidity off like they were working on it so like it was still hot but it wasn't as hot as it normally is today the heat the humidity is working and i mean overdrive overdrive and i feel like i see him keep cutting it down but it was still hot but i was just so glad that I was able to like actually withstand the class like towards the end I definitely started to get winded and I had to take a little break but that was a good class I felt stronger today than I did on Tuesday like Tuesday was shaky for me and I don't know why my my right my right side was feeling so weak on Tuesday like I couldn't even hold my side pose i think i said that when i was on my way here i couldn't even hold my side poses on tuesday but today perfect i don't know but yeah okay let's get home i'm hungry gotta figure out what i'm gonna eat i wish i had dang i feel like i need to stop by this door but i just don't feel because i may i wish i had some cute i don't think i have no more cucumbers and i don't have no more tomato either i just don't feel like going to the store i just want to go home and take a shower and lay on the couch but we'll see what happens once i get home if i go to the store bye
