Video games are often dismissed as distractions  but with over 3.3 billion players worldwide, they are one of the most powerful cultural forces shaping how people think, connect, and learn.
The talk explores how games influence behavior, build transferable skills, and create real opportunities and is an invitation for parents, educators, and policymakers to stop seeing games as a black hole  and start seeing them as the future. Angad Singh Malik works at the intersection of video games, social impact, and public engagement, exploring how games can shape behavior, influence culture, and drive meaningful change.

He is the Chapter Lead for Games for Change India, where he is building a national ecosystem for gaming for good through policy, partnerships, and community engagement. He also closely works with UNESCO on the ‘Transforming MEN’talities in and through Video Games’ initiative, contributing to global efforts to address gender norms and social behaviors through interactive media.

As an Impact Strategist at Eight Goals One Foundation (8one), he has co-authored ‘The Gender Equality Quest in Video Games’ with UNESCO, launched at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. A recognized expert, he frequently speaks on gaming and social impact with engagements across IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies, and YLAC amongst others. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
