Icon

He's not the Stig, but he is the Stig's farming cousin. Howdy folks, how we doing? So we're on drilling today. Well, I'm on seed carp pretty much, another job, sis, that and the other. We'd done a bit of drilling last week and we thought we'd hold off because it was really, really dry. But we had some rain yesterday, five or six mil. So, yeah, Richard's on the go again with his new... 225, the KVTS, I think he's liking his new tractor. Auto command, so CVT transmission does just make everything easier and lovely and smooth. Yeah, so this is that really tough field. We had the Restorer in with the FW and it was hard going, it really was hard. We mulled it last year. So yeah, it's had obviously one pass with the Restorer and then it's probably been jokered twice I should think. But a little bit cloddy on this headland, but it always is. It's real stiff this headland. As soon as you get away from the headland, it's alright lot. And there is a bit of moisture there. Hopefully we'll get a bit more rain and it'll keep giving it a drink now and again lot. Beautiful. Alright, we'll get unstrapped. Might get in here and roll it later if I get a chance, but I probably won't get a chance, the jobs I've got to do today, so we'll see. Rolls are on the fast track, ready to roll. We'll see how we get on. Anyway, let's get this unstrapped. I've just got back to the yard. I've got the old quad out, the old CF520. We're going to put the Avodex machine on the back, so get that set up. whether we'll get off today and do any, I don't know whether we'll have time but we can get it all set up, get the wires on and all that sort of stuff. Yeah, this is done. It's only done 25 hours. I've had it just over a year. So just this there, look. 25.6 hours. I'm sure that's the hours. End of last year, when I was doing this job with it, you've got a squeaky rear brake caliper. Well that turned out to be a binding brake caliper and it cooked the seals in the caliper so I lost all the brake fluid. So I still had rear brakes one side because it's mechanical on the foot brake but all the other brakes, I ain't got any other brakes so that was slightly annoying because I bought it from MKM Agriculture. I bought it like I say probably July, August time. Well... November they went bust so that's that's handy I mean I chose them because they were you know nice local company um 20 minutes down the road jobs are good but like crap now do I you know use for for the warranty on this like because I've got a warranty claim like so um come up with a company called AgriCare um and they do sort of uh smaller stuff quads, ceramic tractors, estate maintenance stuff Basically a farm supply type company like They were more than happy to take it on, get the warranty work done, give it its one year service And it's come back from them a couple of weeks ago They picked it up and re-delivered it, all brilliant All done, new caliper on it, brakes were all good on it, fully serviced Jobs are good, so that is the sort of service you need, so yeah, AgriCare To be fair, I'd never heard of them before, but, you know, searching for them and everything, they'll be getting some more of my customers, that's a sure fact. You know, you get companies like that that'll, you know, sort of, you know, because obviously they didn't sell me the machine, you know, I didn't buy the machine from them, but they took it on no quibbles asked, well, they'll get some more business from me, simple as that, like, you know, so you cannot ask for more than that. So anyway, we will get this hooked on and get it sorted out, like. So it's the next day and we've got the fast track now on karting duties because we need a bit more seed and we want the digger for unloading duties. And look at what we've got. Lovely old 4220 Icon. Horse leaf sprayer. Very nice, two JCB brothers. There's a smart rig. Very nice. He's got a lot of softice for the day, hasn't he? 4220 Icon. Doesn't get much better. apart from the new 6000 so i've not seen it yet in the flesh um but uh yeah does look nice doesn't it um so yeah better luck we'll get our hands on one soon and we can do a test and see what she's like you know get a good old review of her like but yeah all looks good at the minute didn't it which has just got here with the drill the Icon is done, done his field, that didn't take him long. We've just got to run hooked now, we'll leave the trailer here and yeah, gonna put some Averdex on. As you can see, remember the old field V guidance I had years ago, well that is perfect for this job. So I'm just setting an AV at the minute, so that makes life easier when we come to going up and down. So we'll just stop there a minute and knock to the Metering off, do be there like that, then we've got guidelines now. Into low range. Yeah, so the quad has got low, high, obviously a neutral, reverse and a park. No gears really, because it is CVT, so once you get going, you just press the throttle on. So, on that is putting the metering on. Now the next rig is 15 metres wide, so it does cover a fair old width lot. The quarter's got selectable four-wheel drive, which is very handy because this is really quite a steep field. This was just two-wheel drive. I would have spun it up there, I reckon. Actually, they've also got selectable diff lock as well, which is very handy. Power steering as well. So it's a very, very easy quarter drive. Very easy. Compared to the old Honda Ford track, I had my four. Very comfortable as well. It is a big stone. We better get rid of that in a minute. So now we're going up and down. I can just use the guidance just to keep it accurate. Especially in a field like this, it's really not easy to gauge how wide you are. You know, 15 metres wide, so it's quite a width to be guessing. That's a pleasant job, really. Coming to the end, we'll do a spin, metering off. It's quite a good... It's quite a good hill really like. It is a big old stone. I think we'd better lob that, ain't we? Once this field done, we just press save. We can then put the name in. So the hill. There we go, that's what we've done. How cool is that? Very cool. Right, get folded up onto the next one. That's one folded. They're not the easiest things to fold. Especially the first one. Because you get... when you lift that first one over because you still got this one out the weight holds that one down lifts that one up so you've got to be quite tall to do it hence I mean it's alright for me but I'm not sure about the shorter gentleman if you know what I mean sorted right get me flashing lights on and yeah we're away so that'll do for this video if you want a bit more of an in-depth sort of video on the quad and the avodex spreader yeah let me know in the comments i've not really done a proper review on the quad yet like or well it's the first time you've seen that thing as well so i could go into a bit more a bit more in depth on it yeah let me know in the comments so yeah back to yard now i think richard's finished drilling where he is so i'll go a bit trailer and the digger up with the fast track Obviously I left the trailer there, born the fire's wrapped back. Speed of power. So yeah, if I'm going to get that back it'll be tea time. Anyway, hope you enjoyed that. I'll see you on the next one. Ta-ta!
