So we're all loaded up for bean drilling. So we've got the beans on here, got the digger on for loading. But that's not today. So today we're going spraying an Avodex in again. So I've got to drop this off, drop the fire truck off. And I've got a big lump to do down the road. So we're putting it on the low loader and a pallet of Avodex with me. So I've got all the stuff I need. in one 8 lot. So, yeah, so I drop this off, load the quad up with as much Avodex as I can and then, yeah, get it loaded up. Right, so we've got, we're fully loaded. You don't have to watch the spreader because obviously you're on a quad, not very big. But it is quite wide, so you do have to watch it. So anyway, we've got enough on board now with what we're going to have on the pallet. I've still got something squeaky. Anyway, we'll get on the loader on the low loader. Strap down. We can get the fast strap on the front and be off. Do need some ramps to get on though. Right, she's all strapped. Strapped to within an inch of her life she is. So, yeah, we're ready. Must take a little while to get her on and strap down and everything, Mike. We can crack on now. We are off. Need power. This proper low loader is very handy for this job and obviously the digger as well. Really really low loading height obviously on it and obviously you can put it on the floor because you drop the drawbar on the floor and the rear axle basically is on hydraulics so you can just lift that up, put it down, the stops come out, the whole deck can sit on the floor like so it's super low. So if you wanted to like, you've seen it before, a four metre power harrow, just drop on the deck and turn it about with this trailer like, it's very handy. You know, very, very handy. So that's some of the, you won't see on the video like, but that's, I have a dex for that. last week, Friday I think it was and that is really up and on the move now. You know it's green haze across the field so that is good, that is very good. So we're getting caught up today on stuff that needs Avodex and clear emergency spray on. Rather that actually drilling wise we're not got a lot left. It's been a good, you know it's come really quite nice the weather for us this haul. as it has for quite a few folks like. Fouture it, nice. Yeah we've had a bit of rain then that's dried up allowed us to continue drilling and rolling. Everything's been rolled by last year. We hadn't even started yet because it was still flooded. Everything was still sodding after that rain we had in September. But yeah anything rolled last year. This year everything's gone in beautiful. Gone into a nice sea bed, a bit of moisture there. been rolled, best boss job is a good one so uh it's good to get things off to a good start ain't it like not indicating sake you know come around the roundabout i would say a lorry driver but it's only a seven and a half tonner but even still you're coming around the roundabout if you're going to go around how about you indicate not just come around and hope everyone can guess what you're up to like so i've got no worries about putting in front of someone that doesn't bother to indicate. It's not our job is it lot? Just that little stalk there, up or down. Here's one thing with this trailer and it is it cuts real real bad so you do have to use all of the gateway sometimes to get her in because that axle is right at the back which is just putting this second tank for long to finish this bit. That rolled in lovely look at it, beautiful! This is where we were when we see the Icon spraying. This is that field. I got C though, that was it. I do like the look of that new 225. This is a nice looking tractor. It'll help him finish off, then we'll sneak round the water tank tractor. So this CFMoto C-Force 520. Now I've had it a year. I didn't like it to be fair, but to be honest I've not... tried any of the other makes as in you know new ones honda yamaha karazaki uh can am you know i've got experience of karazaki and honda older machines like this compared to one of them is like night and day obviously like you know but um yeah one of the big things that attracted me to this one was you got a cvt transmission yes the downside is it's a bit revvy But you know, it pulls really well like. We've got, well I'm not sure how much the Avodex spreader weighs, we'll have a look in a minute, but I've got nearly 300kg of Avodex in there, pulls it fine. Even last year, when conditions weren't great, when I was doing this job, it weren't like this, weren't rolled, it wasn't rolled, it was wet. But it was hard work. Even then she dragged this thing everywhere. So I went for the 520. It's got a little bit more power than the old Honda I had. And to be fair, it's done everything I've needed a bit long. Last year, towing this thing around was hard work. But if I was going again, I'd probably go for the 625, I think, as the next model up. But having said that, this is still got, you know, it's just really broken. You've got a decent digital dash there, gives you everything you need, your revs, your speed, status of the four-wheel drive system, a diff lock, temperature, fuel, all that like. The other crazy thing is, this quad, well no, let me go the other way around. The spread I've got behind me is over twice the cost of the quad. Believe that or not, I mean, That is hard to believe. I mean, what you got? It's a mild steel boom, you got a plastic tank, I guess you got a Honda petrol engine there. There's nothing to it really, and yet it's over twice the cost of this whole quad. Unbelievable that is really, look. Kind of it shows you how expensive that Avon X-Spreader is, but also how much of a bargain these quads are, look. You know, a lot cheaper than an equivalent Honda or whatever. And I don't think there's, you know, like with anything, cars, lorries, tractors, doesn't matter. All brands have their issues. Doesn't matter where they come from, they all have issues. So, buying your Honda. There's no guarantee of having a, you know, a good machine that's not going to break down. No guarantee at all, just like anything like, you know. Mine there is no guarantee of, er, I can't turn my metering back on, there's no guarantee of, er, you know, reliability this day and age. Petrol engine there. A little drive to the fan, and you see, we come round to the other side. So you've got your main fan, right there goes, er, underneath the tank, underneath the metering wheel. You see the metering wheel just in there. You've also got that little pipe off, comes off there. goes into the tank so it sort of puts pressure in the tank so if you haven't got that on it doesn't tend to send the correct amount of seed or whatever you know whatever you're doing so send the seed through so yeah obviously then it seed drops in or over next whatever you've got drops into that part there up into the distribution edge and then that just distributes it into these and you can feel the air coming out of them so yeah A lot of money this thing, but not a lot to it. Father-in-law says these look exactly like the old fold-up spray booms they used to have on the farm. So, yeah, pretty simple. They're just pipe clamped in position, so it's quite handy if you catch something on the edge of the field. They just bend around a little bit, then you can just straighten them. The main brake back on the boom, as if you saw me on the last video when you fold them up, is... It does want to loosen off a bit. There you go, the main pivot. Probably a little bit too tight, but that's your brake away there, one either side. That's your little GPS antenna. It knows how fast you're going for the variable rate. That is the rate controller. So it tells you everything you need to know there. It's out of work, in work, your actual rate, you can calibrate it off that and all that sort of stuff. That's the Field B dome, which I'm getting GPS from. And it's accurate to, I think, 20 centimetres, which is fine for this job. I could use my RTKF there subscription and just plumb that into that and then get, you know, two centimetre accuracy, but I don't really need it on this line. I can't be bothered to put it into this as well. But yeah, that works a treat on the phone. So you can be accurate with what you're putting on. Simple ball coupling on there. Someone did comment on one of the videos that it's quite good that the ball coupling comes out quite a way on the quad, which is good in one respect. Makes it easy to hook on quite often there. you know, tucked right back in there. But the only other downside is that there's a lot more leverage when you've got weight on whatever you have, you know, your trailer, whatever it is. It acts a lot more on the quad. If you've brought it up to the axle, there'll be less leverage on. So, but even with like sort of 300 kilograms, like I say, in the hopper, I want to see how heavy this thing is. It does tell you somewhere. It's got a big 150k, something like that. So, there's probably about nearly half a ton. Not all on the back of the quad, obviously, because you've got the rear axle, which has got suspension, has got built-in suspension hubs. So, it does ride quite nicely. The boom also is a floating boom, as you can see. Sits on there, goes in a bit of a parallel action like that. Yeah, no, it's a good bit of kit like. One downside of the Avodex spreader is the fact that it's got no section control at all. So when we're doing a bit like this, we're in a bit of short work, as you can see. Not too bad, it's quite a big bit of short work, if you know what I mean. But there is no section control at all, not even half width. So when you're doing just a little bit, you're still spreading at full width. So, recorded that, there you go, that is recorded coverage. We were still having to put full rate on, you see, so not ideal. So that's us all done in this field. 50 acres, 20 hectares, and that's took 2 hours and 5 minutes. We've got to move to the next block now, which is a 40 acre block, 3 fields. Yeah, so get her loaded up, then we'll move over to there. I'll just show you that this field be the data that it gives you like, it's quite good. So it gives you the hectare you've worked, how far you've gone and obviously the time of the job. So we've done 15.7 kilometres, yeah 21.93 hectares which is probably about right because if I just pause that, save that just save this field because I'm not just turning the coverage off when I turn I'm doubling up there because obviously I've been around that all the way around the headland and then but it's recording that me going over the headland again so the 2.7 is not too far off what it would be you know it's going to be a because it was three hectares going around the headland so roughly about just under two would be about right for a turning on each each belt wouldn't it so Yes, it's far off the mark. There you go. How pretty does that look? I do like seeing, you know, what you've done does look good. Right, let's turn this thing off. A bit of peace and quiet. So, yeah, we're getting folded up. The other thing I want to really mention is, of course, the helmet. Now, it's quite an unusual looking helmet, yes, because I wanted one that's, you know, could, you know, more universal to do everything so with a push like that it's a full face mask i've got the the shade thing there like that down and up so you can lock it there or lock it open if you're you know like you're going around the field i want it open but when you're tanking down the road at say 40 top well top speed is 38 mile an hour in this quad um and it's a bit chilly well you want the face down don't you like so uh with this you've got both options So she's a good looking quad. So obviously you've got your socket there for your tow ball. Your electrics, seven pin electrics are there. That's where your exhaust lives. You've got all round discs on it. Very, very good suspension. I did get a D-plug put on. So there's a D-plug there. That is... activated by that switch there that turns the D plug on and off so that's handy you've got 12 volt cigarette lighter plug there you've got USB for charging stuff phones all that sort of stuff like I mentioned previously you've got that's your you basically gearbox so you're in park you've got reverse neutral high and low gear and like you say she's CVT nice little touch of these I've not used it yet. You get a front winch all integrated. It'd be quite good to try that out one time. You've got, they are all LED them lights, I'll just quickly show you. They are smart. Just flip that on. So that's your solid lights. Really quite smart. And then just flip it up for your lights. Really good lights on it look. Turn that off, you've got indicators there, horn, hazards, because of course it all comes fully road legal, you just got to register it and all that sort of stuff. So yeah, it's all good to go. That's where you control your four-wheel drive, see we're still in four-wheel drive at the minute, two-wheel drive, and then you slide that down, that allows you to then push that button. like so and then that's your diff locking gauge so nice little sort you can't activate it by mistake then like you've got the hand protector things there like front brake your rear brake is down there little lever down there you see yeah it's a very very good quad hopefully now that that brake callipers sorted yeah hopefully that'll be last of the issues i mean like getting cows in like it's just so you can like 40 mile an hour just so smooth lovely lovely lovely lovely bit of kit so there you go yeah a bit of rear storage there uh front and rear decks for it obviously um i better take my phone in actually and i like you know and better leave that on while we swap fields anyway let's get this strap down there she is all strapped down now We're ready to roll. Yeah, we'll get down the road and do the next 40 acres. So yeah, I hope that was, you know, kind of interesting. A bit more on the quad, a bit more on the Avodex sweater. I don't think I actually said that Avodex is a very good tool for controlling black grass. We started with it last year on the, you know, on the solid lot. and yeah it kicked it right up the bum so yeah really reduced it so that's why we're chucking it on it really gives the old black grass a beating so yeah handy rig that is look anyway i will leave you now with a bit of cummings symphony we'll go to the next field uh with the um the mic listening to the old exhaust and uh yeah i'll see on the next one Tress up!
