DON'T ROLL IT!

Howdy folks, how we doing? We're just heading out on the 225. Well, I'd say 225, we've got two 225s. This is the one we had first, the chunkier one, the one that goes on the baler. Yeah, just on a mutt cart. As you can see, we've had a bit more rain this morning, so everywhere's wet, and where we're going to tip will be wet, really wet. But funnily enough, all the rain we've had this year, contrast to last year, or last winter rather, the river's not coming out of its banks this year. I know I'm sort of, you know, tempting fate by saying that, but it's true. Hasn't come out once. And you think, well, this time last winter, it had been out, I don't know, half a dozen times. a good couple of times really badly so for it not to have come out once is quite astonishing really whether they're just sort of you know getting rid of the water a bit quicker here and whether they're you know whether they're possibly you know flooding other places because they're clearing it here and other people are suffering i don't know but um yeah no we've not had uh we don't had any any floods so and we have had some serious rain at times but yeah give more heavy showers this afternoon they do so obviously we had a lamb a couple of weeks ago now I thought it was well if not one of the best the best I thought it was a really good show this year and I really think it could benefit from being three days long obviously there's more costs in renting the the exhibition space and all that sort of stuff, but I think it really benefited from three days because the new shed, or the crop tech section and the demo area that was new this year, never got in there. Didn't even know there was an extra haul this year until I looked on the map and said, look at that little bit poking up the top there a lot. So never got in there at all. Yeah, so if you went, what did you think of it? I really think it could benefit from being a three-day event. Yeah, that was good. We did the meet up on the SEAT stand on the first day. Good to catch up with some familiar faces, some new faces. Yeah, just in general, good to have a catch-up lot. So, yeah, some interesting talks with some manufacturers, local ones, you know, local British manufacturers. to have a look at some of the machines they make and where they make them. So that'll be good. A video that... There's a couple of videos or a couple of bits of kit I'm really looking forward to. And one of them is looking at the new McCormick's of various sizes. Got a couple of videos in mind for that. Now you may or may not realise Darren, you know, my mate Darren, he's a McCormick enthusiast. Like he's like proper mental on McCormick's. I know there's something wrong with him like, but someone's got to like him. But no, in all fairness, I like the product bike. The old ones and the new ones. All we're going to do is we're going to get one, like an equivalent to his MTX 140. Get an equivalent modern day McCormick. I don't know what it is. And we will see, you know, where they've improved, how they've improved. have they not improved in some areas like and we'll have a look at it and get Darren's thoughts on it because like I say he's a McCormick enthusiast then of course we want to have a look at the bigger models the X7 and X8 series like and see how they compare to the competition yeah I really like them really like the cabs, like styling yeah so we'll see see what they're like the other sort of interesting tractor I'm keen to have a look at is this tractor's replacement. The new 225 facelifted model with the new cab and everything like that. So I want to see how exactly how they've improved. Also like the cosmetics cabs, new Intelliview screen on it, new layout here. But the other things you can't see like, you know, how they improve the transmission, power delivery, all that sort of stuff. new front suspension as well because these are all right but they're not the comfiest tractors in the world so it will be interesting to see how the new front suspension works on them. Looks like a lot better system. So we'll be comparing new with old. There light, which will be good. We are coming down to the mucking and this is where we're putting all the separated muck, so essentially wet muck. It's a big old heap. Here I'll show you. There you go. That'd be fun walking across as well, because that is a bit spongy. So we're going to go and try to get in the middle there. In that middle bit there. But of course it allots down to where the trailer goes, because it'll have a bit of a mind of its own. And indeed... how it sinks in because obviously you can't tip you know can't tip a trailer if it's on the is on the wonk so um if one side goes in we may have to do a bit of shunting all that sort of stuff so we'll see how we get on and that's the up down for the front linkage you can see that axle oscillation catches that that's the second time them buttons are gone you don't really want to reduce i mean you could do the steering lock so it doesn't turn quite as tight But to be honest, it's enough of a barge as it is at the minute anyway, without reducing the lock. It's a very, it's not, it's because it's got these big tyres on basically, which is what was on it when we got it like, but yeah, the 665 28. I'm sure the other one probably don't have the same problem, but even still, obviously it can come with these tyres on. But it shouldn't be able to do that like, so the farmer's going to have to get another set of buttons to go in there. It's easy to do. Undo them two big old bolts, that little cover comes off. Plug a new one in, jobs a good one. But it shouldn't really be doing it, should it? So, that's something to check when we do the video with the new one. See if that position has improved. But yeah, she's fairly filthy. Don't get many washes this time of year. Not on this job anyway. Right, so we just parked her up. If you remember the Lama video, I was talking to LMG Plant Iron about the Sentinel fire suppression system. Well, not suppression system, fire fighting system. Front tank with the motor and everything. Like on that video, I said, I've already got the front tank. And this is it, you may have seen it before, I've put it on channel before, but yeah, it's a lot lower tank, but that does mean you're a bit more limited on room. You see the spray pump at the minute is mounted down there, as well as all the gubbins for applying liquid fertiliser, which is what it was initially designed to do. Yeah, not quite as much room on this front tank as well as on the actual Sentinel tank. I'm sure they can make something work, get the pump on there, hose reel. Then I'll be able to have a hose going from front to rear because I still need to want to be self-sufficient with the Jetta. So I'm still looking at mounting that on another frame with its own tank. maybe another thousand litres so there's like a couple of thousand litres worth of water to go jetting with or whatever and it would be kind of I mean I could just mount that on a little trailer or something like that or even have that on three-point linkage lifted up and then have a you know have a longer drawbar little bowser so it clears under the under the jet area but I'm thinking obviously because I've got a fast track thousand litres on the front it'd be handy to be able to balance that with similar on the back because she's not front self levelling like you know like that for example you put a weight on the front and it'll level itself well my fast track won't do that so with a thousand litres on the front should be very nose heavy especially how far that you know it's not like carrying 900 kilogram in wafer weights it's a fair ways out like in it so yeah So I'm kind of thinking I want to buy some sort of, I suppose even build something. Well, I haven't got the capability of building anything at the minute. But yeah, sort of integrate that into its own frame. I'd have to beef up the hitching point because obviously it's only cap one lower links there. So there's not a lot holding it on, but it doesn't need to be because it doesn't weigh anything. But if I'm going to mount a thousand litre tank all in one frame, I'd need heavier. duty coupling but it's all durable and if you want to go jetting it's hook on and then you've got 2,000 litres of water so that was the the bomb I was using on the last job worked well anyway I enjoyed that little vid see you on the next one ta-ta
