MAKING SILAGE - BALING - CARTING And EDIBLE BALE WRAP?

Hello folks, how we doing? So, yeah. Today is, well, actually the second day out with the baler. Did 20 acres yesterday, something like that. Again, it looks slightly dodgy over there, doesn't it? We had a few little showers yesterday, but not enough to actually stop. It was the best barometer for... whether you stop baling or not is how wet your front mud guards get. So if they get really wet, if they get completely wet, that's too wet, you've got to stop. But if they get like, you know, a bit wet, not all the way wet, and then start drying off, you should be alright. And that's what we had yesterday, it's sort of like, you know, it didn't get quite all the way wet, then it stopped, so like, you know, it's not wet enough to stop you. So here we get about 100 done something like. Getting the spark up. Now 225. The 224 has been spraying this morning. Then what that is? EHR configuration. Electronic Hero retard. I don't know. Plug the power into the baler. So, a bit of that. She'll fire up. The old F5600. Put her into fully auto mode even. Engage the spool. That'll put the... That'll just make sure that you can hear it. Just make sure the knives are fully in. There we go. Off we go. So you can see we had a bit out of it last night. Just so today's not quite such a big day, if you know what I mean. So get her sparked up. Yeah, certainly I mean obviously I didn't, we've cut, obviously we've cut two fields that you see on the mowing video that I cut. I didn't see, we should have cut two other fields, one of which we reseeded as well. But that yielded like probably a second cut, where this has actually yielded, you know, like a first cut like, you know. It's a bit like, I mean, I think on the moment, last year it was poor, and the first cut, we are all in, aren't we? The first cuts we did last year were like blooming second cuts. So, yeah, it's good that this field is yielding a little bit better. Touch wood, shouldn't really say, but the baler hasn't missed a beat. Gonna make some nice bales. I mean, they are a very good baler, these. these Macau's. I've not tried any other, you know, I say modern balers, you know, up-to-date balers for a long time like. And in fact, the only other round baler I've driven is a Lely. Yeah, I don't think I've ever driven any other brand. Just trying to think, no, I don't think I have. No, it's been Lely's fixed chamber Lely Well that's what we had before, well the fireman had before this. And then you've got, I drove Kingy's, Key's baler, which is a Lely, but it's a belt baler. Back in the JWB days that was a Lely. Yeah, so that's it, only Lely's in this McHale. But, I mean, it's such a, you know, such a robust design. This is simple, but got stuff on it, you know, it's very handy. And the net. Yeah, the net system, the net is so simple. Really simple system compared to like the Lely, which was, you know, like trying to, you know, park the Starship Enterprise sort of thing. If you catch me drift. But yeah, I mean, look at that bow there. That's right on it like. There's certainly some weight in them. I don't know how much weight, but there's certainly some weight in them. Using Tama, what is it called? What is it, Roland? Roller-tex? Roller-tex, I think. That was from... I just got that from Oliver's. It's class net wrap, if you will, because it's in class colours. But it is just, you know, basically exactly the same as normal edge-to-edge. Yeah, talking of Tama, they've had some new product releases recently. One of the new products they've come up with is called EasyWeb. Now... A little while back, it may actually be, I don't think it was last time, I think it was the summer before, I actually tested some EasyWeb. When I was at Matt's, with Matt's, what do you know, I had the MC120, the McCormick, and I had his lately belt baler. And I've never actually uploaded that video, which I will have to do. One of the reasons why I wasn't too happy with how it came out, if you know what I mean. So, you know what harvest is like, never enough time to scratch your bum. So I've got this EasyWeb, it's not like standard NetWrap. Completely different product. And therefore it's not quite a straight swap, especially into a Lely Baylor. With this baler, I think it is. I think you literally just chuck a roll of EasyWeb in and it works. Well, the Lely's a bit more complicated than that. So, I wasn't getting great edge-to-edge coverage, but I don't think you kind of get that with this product anyway. But having said that, I think I'm going to, you know, because now the product's been out a little while. It's been a bit more refined. I think it's time to release that video and, you know, just show another product. And there's a lot of benefits to that product. And when Matt was coming to use it, you know, coming to unwrap the bowels in the winter, he found it far better to remove off bowels than standard net wrap. Because standard net wrap is the right pig. I've done videos on it before where, you know, it literally grabs as much straw as it can. the easy web doesn't you know and it comes off a lot cleaner and matt was really impressed with it so we'll have to um i'll have to knock that video up get that out another product um that they come up with which was on the uh which me and darren saw agri technica on the tamer stand was how best to describe um it was basically it was like nothing you've ever seen before it was like a It's really hard to describe. An edible bale wrap, that's basically what it's marketed as. So I don't know if you spray it on or whatever. I mean, it's obviously very, very early days. Spray it on whatever anyway, then it goes, you know, it seals the bale up and then you just give it to the cows. You've got no waste because cows eat it. Now, I don't know what it's made of. Obviously, it's probably a bit of a trade secret at the minute. I mean, yeah, if you haven't got to take the net wrap off your silage boughs or your straw boughs or whatever, and cows just eat it, quid's in. How good's that? So that is one of the Agritechnica vids. There's still a load of them videos I've got to do. I think I've done about half of them from Agritechnica. So as and when I find the time, I should put them in between. like the day-to-day videos like but yeah it's really interesting so i mean is that the future of i mean probably won't you know be the future for everyone like but edible edible bowel wrap brilliant absolutely brilliant i also developed another new product it's an edible bowel wrap now here we've got a very kind gentleman evald who's going to tell us all about it hi hi george nice to meet you again yes how are you doing I'm fine, thank you. So this is a future project, described here today, tomorrow, EasyWeb. The future is Edibail. It's an edible or feedable product. It's a coating around the bail made by a liquid that's sprayed with nozzles on the bail, on the turning bail. And it's binding. relatively quickly. You can use it for silage. For sure you need an extra... You can use it as well for dry crops like hay or straw. To be clear, this is just a model. The real size is up to 150-160 meters. Or however you are in feet and whatever. So it's just a model made by headquarter and a mini baler. you can feed it as I said and today it's just for indoor storage and you cannot store it outdoor under a freeze that might be the next step what is one part of our responsibility in case on environmental so we reduce or we redesign a product like a net and now we really replace it with something different. No net at all. No plastic, feedable, nothing to worry about, no money to pay for any collection scheme or whatsoever, no plastic, microplastic, nothing. That is the future. So what is it sort of thing? I know you're not going to be able to tell too much about what's in it like, but... Let's say it's... It's a mix of bio-liquid. More I cannot say. No, that's fair enough. But Daisy there, she'll munch it. Yeah, absolutely. She will love it. It's a crispy outside of her. Yeah, like cod and chips. Bad cod. You hit the nail. Yeah, and let's see in some years how far we go. But in the moment, that's our project. the holy grail if you will of bail you know to hold the bail together the top solutions at the end and yes it's working well and Tamara of course you're always leading with the innovation of the easy web edge to edge that sort of thing and you're the only guys doing this yes yes yeah as far we know you never you never know at the end of the world but We have many people here from Asia, from Down Under and so on and everybody is amazed about this project. I mean, if you can bring that to market, happy days! It will be a way but it shows Tama is leading, Tama is innovative. Always trying to reduce that plastic waste because that's the business we're in but if we can reduce it, it's better for everyone, isn't it? Absolutely better for everyone. Lovely. Cheers, Evel. Doesn't take long at all. Right, see how long this takes. Shouldn't take long. That down, that's all we need to do. There we go. Wrap changed. Decent old bales they are. There is. Considerable amount of weight in there. So we're just in the other 225 now. Just getting the last load of bales off the field. Yeah. What have I done today? About 150 barrels today. And we're about 152... I think we've done about 250 all told. So, yeah. Not a bad start. Nothing's touched wood. Nothing's gone majorly wrong. So, yeah. It's amazing how different two identical tractors can be. Obviously, they're both 2-3-5s. built within a year each other and they're you know they sort of feel completely different um yeah the only sort of outward difference on these is really is the tire spec um these are what i'd call her on sort of standard spec tires 650s on the back well mind you the other one the other one is on 650s as well but they're a wider section um but uh yeah other than that they're basically identical tractor slot Didn't enjoy it's got the old style joystick in this one as whereas the other one has got the new style one. Dodds the showers, not that I've seen any but there's been some dark clouds floating about. But yeah, not to say we couldn't do with some rain, we really could. Yeah, definitely could do with a load of rain. At least we made a fair start lot, a little bit earlier than last year. Looks that car there and he's turning. Also, it is actually my birthday today. I've got 25. 45. 45 today. I wonder if I'll get a special tea. Maybe fish and chips, maybe burgers or something like that. Don't know.
